Side window chrome on or off?

Has anyone ever left the chrome strip that is attached to the drip rail off for good? How does it look?

Mine is pretty scratched up so I'm considering leaving it off after I paint...

I think that looks great. I'm painting mine the same dark blue so I think I'll leave it off too. Thanks!

I recently removed the gutter trim on my car and think it looks better without it. The trim strip accentuates the high roof line and without it the car looks lower.

However, that the trim covers the spot welds that attach the roof to the rest of the car and keeps water from entering. There is a small gap almost the full length of the roof just below the gutter that will need to be sealed (with Bondo?) and repainted.

Good point. The previous owner removed the gutter strips and repainted. Next time I'm home I'll take a look see.

Wishful thinking for us to get rain in south central Texas, so I should be ok for a while (LOL).
