FS: 1976 '02 Chamonix/Navy, good paint, fresh rebuild SOLD

I've decided to sell my '02 after 4 years of ownership, as we will probably be moving soon to the West Coast. The car has been lots of fun, including a trip last year to Vintage at the Vineyards. Here are the facts:

1976 BMW 2002 Chamonix/Navy

Newly rebuilt (less than 2,000 miles) engine with 9.5 tii pistons and Weber 32/36 DGAV. Rebuilt 1.8i head with electric pump installed as well.

Only Reused parts on rebuild were crank, cam, rods (they were re-bushed), and sprockets. All new chains, seals, bolts, gaskets, oil pump, bearings, o-rings, etc.

Block was bored to match pistons.

Painted 2 years ago, paint looks good and water beads up nicely. Always garaged, driven only occasionally.

Very solid car, especially for the East Coast. Turbine Wheels with Michelin Tires, Bilstein struts, Ansa exhaust, E21 Recaros and turbo-style steering wheel.

Lots of extra parts, including good complete cylinder head, alternator, starter, brake backing plate, suspension bushings, and more.

Within last 3 years, all new discs, calipers, pads, drums, rear cylinders and shoes, cap, rotor, blue coil, wires, engine, transmission mounts, starter (new M3 style) and shifter linkage were replaced. Driven less than 3,000 miles since then.

New carpet kit, correct color and weave, installed less than 2 years ago. BMW Coco mats included.

Needs upholstery on back seat, door brakes, defroster fan fix, working horn, door seals, and outside mirrors. Headliner should be replaced, but may be cleanable.

Includes owners manual, McCartney book, Haynes Manual, Clymer manual, and 1960s Chilton manual.

Located in New Bern, North Carolina, 28562.

Some more pictures. The camera flash was on, and I was in a hurry, so the paint looks super white. It is the cream color Chamonix, and the paint guy was generous with the overspray. Sometimes it's hard to find good help.

Both windshield gaskets (front and back) and the trunk gasket are new.

When the car was painted, rust in the doors and front lower valance was sandblasted away and filled. This car was originally from California, but I bought it in Atlanta in 2005. It was in much worse shape then.

Hi,

I'll be in Salter Path next week and would like to see the car. Please call me at 336.263.8719 and let me know when we can meet.
