Death Sentence for Saturn

I am sad to hear that the Penske buyout of Saturn has failed. GM will stop making Saturns & close down the dealer network. I toured the Spring Hill plant in '97 -- what a pleasure -- a clean, modern plant with friendly, upbeat workers assembling Saturns. We bought a '98 SL1 a few mos. later. It's a very reliable car, in fact, it needs to get sick so I can replace it with a used 3-series. But, it is too economical to get rid of it now. GM could have made a success of Saturn, but they started too late and the long-term commitment of corporate wasn't there.

They should have named it Nissondyota. Or maybe, iGM. =p
