I quit keeping track approx 850K around 2000. Longest trip....I guess that would be when I went TDY to attend the Armed Forces Staff College. Drove from Ft. Carson, CO to Norfolk Va and back Jan - Apr 1996. Bought the car new in 1974 drove for the next 26 years of active duty, lots of TDY trips, I retired from the Army in 2004 but she is still my daily driver.

Miles driven since you owned her: No idea, I didn't keep track. It was my daily diver for about 3yrs. For about a year I drove it about 120 miles a day for work.

Total Miles: Again no Idea, It has a replacement speedo and that has been rolled at least once I would guess. There is a sticker in the door jam that states it was changed some time in 1990 and the mattress tag police will come get me if I remove it.

Longest road tip in her: San Francisco to Portland OR and back (on several occasions) about 1400 miles round tip. This was before the 5 speed swap.

At what mileage did the odometer break?: According to the sticker 78589, as best as I can make out. Current ODO reads 78225.

I would guess that the car has over 200K on it.

The large print giveth and the small print taketh away.

After looking through my records, it looks like my car had about 185k on it in 1991 when the engine was replaced with a Metric Mechanic 2200. It looks like the odometer was swapped out then, too, and it read 43,xxx now... but the speedo reads slow, so I'm guessing the mileage is a little shy of a true figure.

I'd guess my car has about 250,000 on its body.

Furthest I've driven it is about 90 miles! Still getting it back in running order since the previous owner left it under his carport with only sporadic use for 5+ years.

Miles driven since you owned her

1,200 Since I bought from the Original Owner 6 months ago.

Total Miles

61,000 Original, Not joking ya either. Original Owner bought it in 1976 then drove it until 1990. Moved a few miles out of Seattle and parked it in his garage never to drive it again until a month ago.

Longest road tip in her

Currently about 150 miles to have a local BMW 2002 guy look at it.

At what mileage did the odometer break?

60,000 (And it wasn't the odometer shaft either... took me 4 tries to fix it!)

Heres how I bought it. Payed 100o bucks for this car.

Wolfgang (69) bought new, so all 223,000 miles are mine. Longest trip: Upstate NY-Maryland-S. Florida-Maryland-Ohio--about 3k miles in total, back when the car was nearly new. Just finished 1500 miles to Ofest and back. Odometer has never broken--turned over twice now.

Ludwig (73) bought in 78 with 46k, now also 223k miles. Longest trip: Dayton to Keystone CO and Dayton to Austin Tx--each about 2700 miles round trip. Odometer still functioning; had to repair it a couple of times but mileage is correct.

cheers

300K

Longest trips were to and from San Diego to Las Vegas and Mammoth Mountain. So about 700 miles round trip. Did this 3 or 4 times a year.

As with most, Im not sure. The odometer was not working when I bought my 2002 in 2004. But the woman I bought it from told me she drove it from Pacoima to Palm Springs almost every day for work! She owned it for 5 years. So, according to my math thats about 338,000 miles! So I'll guess the total amout of miles is near 500,000. No wonder my engine is so worn out!
