Is 1972 a good year to buy a vintage BMW?

I hope so, I just bought one today. Yes it is right hand drive. Some of you may know the history of this Touring.

It was posted a few weeks back on Sacramento's CA Craigslist and listed as a 2000 wagon. It is super super clean and all original. I was praying that nobody else would see it and buy it while I was getting my finances together.

Even though I'm unemployed had I stumbled across that during my compulsive 02 searches I would have bought it.

Those steelies are much better than the wheels that the car had on it.

After you've looked it over do you think those miles are accurate? It looks pretty clean inside and out.

That's funny, I ran across that the day it was posted on craigslist. I was about to make a post but then decided not to because I knew someone was probably making quick haste to snatch it up. Congrats on getting it.

Wow Norm a car with windows ! That one is the real deal and the miles are

accurate. Hey Sam, Norm will let me sit in the drivers seat but the steering

wheel is on the other side. Glad to see it back in the hands of an enthusiast.

The Touring needs two things: A period correct Blauplunkt to run a ipod and all the booklets from the factory to fill up the glove box.

Peter Sisk...... has a Touring Supplement Manual, although it does look to be in German though. I have an early Touring Supplement Manual (in English) dated 8/71; it's seen good use but is complete. If you need let me know.
