Does anyone sell a shifter rebuild type kit? Mine is loose and I would like to get it back solid again. Also I need a shifter boot

Mine needed a boot & a shifter rebuild kit when I got it. You will be very pleased once the shifter is rebuilt. It was even better once the new clutch was installed. snick, snick, snick.

no "kits" you order what you need ala carte

order it all because they always need it all

and a good time to flush the clutch&brake fluid,

and change the gear oil - GL4 lub only please

One of the first things I did to my car is put a 4-speed upgrade kit from Rob Torres of 2002 Haus. It comes with everything to replace the stock shifter (including delrin bushings) and allows you to upgrade to a 5-speed later.

Give Rob a call to see if he has some still available.

As Jim mentions above - nothing like a new(er) shifter for snick-snicking.

My shifter was really loose, but it was mostly due to bolt 10 in the pic posted earlier being very loose. It wasn't the easiest thing to get a wrench on, but once I got it tight the shifter feel was much better. Not sure if that is common or not.

TJF: my '02 was in Athens, AL when I bought it in the summer of '03. It had been an AL car since new.

I was born in Columbus and lived in Cirlceville, OH when I was young. Athens is just down the road from here. There are at least 4 other 2002 in the area that I know of.
