Randy...Is Mike a lover of Inka??? I'm glad the original color of the car is Inka. The first project car I was working on is Polaris...and I had mixed emotions changing it over to Inka.

Mike just loves Inka. That's why I follow him all over in my Inka Touring. And hopefully Humbeto's Inka tii will be finished in time for V@V.

The Polaris is now a parts car...most which will be available when I'm finished with my pumpkin.

Looking to start a caravan form Orlando. My wife and I will be making the maiden voyage in her 74 02 (hope to be done with it in April) and my 69 02. please contact me at gregwgc at yahoo dot com

Great idea having the Wife take a car too. Yvonne and I made the trip to V@V last year from Texas. Just our two cars in caravan there & back.

Can't make it this year due to work. Great event, great people and great cars.

Jim - I know just the person to help. His name's Mike Self, and he has nothing better to do. He lives in Dayton ;-)

Hey - In your dream you made it all the way to Colorado before they busted you - that's pretty good!

> Well...I've registered and made my hotel reservations in Dobson. I just hope my car's ready in time!

Ummm... not looking good, Jim. I'd volunteer to help, but (a) I'm up here in Merryland and (B) you wouldn't want my help anyway.

Keep at it!

  • 4 weeks later...

My 2002 needs to hitch a ride on a trailer from Florida somehow. Anyone possibly have room and from central to south FL?

I'm going to be coming direct from Maxwell AFB Alabama following the end of some training there; that's IF my car can make it up somehow. Plus I hate to drive mine that far anyway.

Michael, There is a Tampa chapter member that took mine up last year and brought back my Euro M5 along with his Baurtop E30. He is a standup guy. I am only taking one car this year and he took excellent care of mine last year at cost of just splitting fuel costs. Shoot me an email at tljonesco4@aol.com and I will put you in touch with him. More former BMW's than it is possible to list.

What's the latest on local hotel availability? I guess I could call the ones listed on the site. Alternatively, let me know if you have room for me to shack up. It actually sounds like a good time staying that way too.

I'm still trying to figure out details before I register, but hopefully I'll finally make it this year.

LODGING UPDATE

Hampton Inn at Shelton only has a few rooms left for Friday only, none available for Saturday.

I just called Hampton Inn Mt. Airy and they have about 20 rooms left. A few still at the $99 rate but they have several "king studies" at $119. They will also have security again this year and have recently added hot breakfasts.

  • 1 month later...

Feels good to be (1) going and (2) booked now at the Hampton Inn Mt. Airy.

It's looking less like I'll get the tow up I was hoping for, so now I'm gung-ho (yes, it just rolled off my tongue) for a Florida caravan. Please post in the www.vintageatthevinyards.com caravan forum where there's a Florida thread. Some goes for other caravans of course.
