3 year resto - finished.

Purchased this car about 10 years ago with the intention of restoring it 'after a few months' ....... resto started in 2006 and finally finished a few weeks ago. This is a regular 2002, bought and owned new in 72 by director William Castle (Rosemary's Baby, etc.)

This board and its members have been a tremendous resource in learning about my car and going through the restoration process.

Thank you to all whom have helped in any small way. The FAQ rules!

Just a small sampling of pics. I plan to put something more detailed in the Projects side soon.

Nice job Ross!

I don't know how I managed to look at hardly any cars at the show (but maybe I was looking for your e24!).

Very pretty car!

Cheers,

It's hard to believe you started out with the same automatic car! Very nice work indeed. Is your car a '72?

Did you purchase most of the parts thru a local dealer, or thru someone like BLUNT?

Did you keep a running spreadsheet on your costs and labor hours?

I would love to do a project like this in the future. Maybe if I can win the lottery for all the $$$ it would take to purchase all the new pieces.

I was so envious seeing all your packages of goodies (BMW parts)... it must have been like opening Christmas presents all the time. Nice that you converted it from an automatic to a manual. Overall, it looks like a real labor of love. Please add an engine bay shot sometime.

Congrats and enjoy.

Excellent!

I wish i lived just a wee bit closer so i could drop by and use your car as a 'role model' for mine.... meaning i'd use your car as an example as to where things go and how the car 'should' look....

Every time you leave your driveway, you must be proud.

Geez, when you see it like that, it makes it look easy, like the Monty Python routine "how to play the flute" ("well, you blow there and move your fingers up and down here"):

Step 1: You take the car apart

Step 2: You paint it

Step 3: You put it back together

D'oh! Why didn't I think of that?
