Brake Failure Light = Low Gas Light?

I guess the title kinda explains the question. My brake failure light in my dash has never worked before so I just assumed that the relay wasn't working. But last week, I wanted to see how far I could go before I ran out of gas. I didn't run out of gas but it seems like everytime since, and in saying that, this will only be the 2nd time, everytime the needle goes below the red "R" line, my brake failure light comes on, but will go off when I fill up.

Any chance this is a right hand drive feature or is Karl trying to impress me before I go to buy a new Yaris next week?

Yee, I thought it was for the hand brake, but I tested it and it doesn't work :(

That is so cool I have a reserve light, these cars were the wave of the future! I'm not sure why it started to work now after 5 and a half years of owning the car. Maybe it was fixed up when the new engine was put in? Who can say, but I like it!
