Is there text w/the story too? It's a T34 w/German markings, so it was captured and reused by the Germans. Wonder what the rest of the story is.......location, circumstances, etc. There was a German Panther tank rescued from a river on TV. It was totally restored after > 60 yrs. in a cold river on the eastern front.

OK. Now I can read it all. WOW. Great story. Similar stories have appeared over time: a P38 under 50 ft. of ice in perfect cond., a P51 in a deep 02-less lake, also perfect, etc.

When I was living in Germany my landlord uncovered a P38 motor while plowing the fields. It is neat to see history regurgitated from Mother Earth.

When I was in Okinawa, smaller stuff would was up into shallower water just past the reefs. Little stuff, but exciting to find. They have found a lot of downed aircraft in Russia since the border was relaxed.

Awesome find, can't wait to see it returned to original condition. But more importantly: where can I get a couple of 55 gallon drums of that mud!! That's the best long term parts storage media I've seen...
