Brakes Question

Recommended Posts

So Ive got a not so mechanically inclined buddy whose rear hardline rusted out on his camry.

He wants me to replace it but in the mean time continues to drive it, using the handbrake.

Obviously I told him to stop, but hes not the type for good advice.

So my question is: would running the system dry ruin the Master Cylinder or Booster?

I remember there is a booster issue on e30's if the system is run bone dry. Thanks- Will

In reality, whether his mc is toast or not will be irrelevent as he piles into the rear of a school bus.

For his safety and that of the rest of us on the road, I'd advise him that running it dry will cause very expensive damage to the master cylinder, kniflin pin and muffler bearings. Maybe it'll work.
