Need some VW help

I've got to replace the clutch in my 92 gti 8-valve project. Any tips/tricks/advice? I don't have access to a lift.

I have access to one, but You'd have to use it during a weekday.

If I remember correctly, you have to raise the front high enough to remove the transaxle then remove the half-shafts and possibly the exhaust manifold if it is in the way. The transaxle is pretty heavy - have some help before you attempt to pull it. The last one I helped work on was an 80's GTI, so your "newer" one may be different on the exhaust system. A Haynes Manual from the local Auto parts store is handy.

Scope creep works really good on VW's (CV joints/axles, wheel bearings, exhaust, brakes, struts, shifter parts, etc.).
