howdy, never posted before but have used the sight for years. here are some pics of the current state of the car...

az sun is a killer, just started workin on this... crack is wack.

you can see crack down the center and i removed material on the sides

using this on the dash, not sure if it will hold up but as long as i have a uniform looking dash it will do. going to spray over with truck bed paint

i will post more pics some of them are on film and have to scan. this project has been dragged out and i just want to dive the thing! hope to have the car painted (golf) by end of jan.

questions:

could there be a reason someone drilled new holes for upper strut mount?

and are door brake mounts on the car, not the door, welded to frame? my doors would make the POP every time i opened the door and found out the mount should not move. is this right, should bracket be welded from the back/front? can i see a pic of yours.

Hi,

It looks like you're doing a real nice job on your car. I'm working on mine to ready it for paint as well and have the doors off.

The door brake bracket that mounts on the frame is mounted from the inside the frame. I've attached a picture of mine.

Looks good. I wish i had the time/space/money to do a full rebuild on my car. Although I do think the rat look my car is sporting looks very cool. Good luck with the build.
