WTB: BMW 2002 So Cal area

Hi everyone,

I posted earlier hoping to trade my MR2 for a 2002, but I have now sold my MR2 and have cash in hand. I am looking for a clean 2002 that I can use as my daily driver. It must have a manual trans. I am willing to travel for the right car, but would prefer one that is close-ish to the Los Angeles area. Any leads would be great.

My recommendation is to stay away from 76 2002's since that year still has to undergo smog testing. Speaking from past experience, it's a bitch to get a 30 year old car with a carb to pass CA smog. You've got to further define what you want, a square or round tail light 02? Stock or modified with tasteful upgrades, etc...

Keep searching the LA/OC Craigslist and the surrounding cities, (Santa Barbara, San Diego, IE, etc...), there are several 02's for sale now.

To narrow it down I am preferably looking for a stock 02, with round taillights, in either Riviera Blue, Inka, or Fjord Blue. Reliability is my primary concern, but it would be great to find one in one of these colors.

I am very much a newbie here so any advice or info is always appreciated, thank you.

your right Gordon 76 is the worst year for 2002 i know because i have one smoging them is a bitch thats why im looking for a pre 76 shell and i dont care what the tail lights are shaped like. let me know if you find anything i know your the main 02 finder on the FAQ.
