speedo rebuild - which one to choose

Recommended Posts

I have two speedometers - both need to be rebuilt. The one has a working odometer but the speedometer portion is broken. The indicator wrapped around way past the upper limit and broke the needle off.

The other speedometer still indicates speed but the odometer isn't functioning.

Which one would offer the cheaper rebuild?

Thanks

Alan

Send them both off and get a professional opinion.

I've used both North Hollywood Speedometer and Palo Alto Speedometer. Both are excellent.

Good Luck.

Too late for you now, but Rick Borth in Austin did a fine job on the Touring's 140mph speedo a while back.

He was basically working out of his house then, but has now expanded.

there's an outfit called Odometer Gears (odometergears.com) who sells the little plastic gears to repair broken 02 odometers, along with instructions for their replacment.

If you want to learn a new skill, save yourself some money and fix yours yourself...
