I am rebuilding an EVO8 engine at my work, and I noticed that the wrist pins for the pistons are the same size as my M10, 22mm. Below you will find a few pics comparing an EVO aftermarket rods/pistons with M10.

BMW OEM pistons are huge and heavy. Modern pistons are much more compact, offering stronger piston with less weight and less friction.

I already know that I will need to order a set of custom pistons, but I am still debating on what rod length to go with. Would that be stock rods (135mm) or S14 forged h-beams (144mm)?

Stock rods $0

S14 rods $600

Most likely I will end up using my 135mm rods to save some money. :(
