And the windows in the 2CV make great angle of bank indicators as they are hinged in the center. If you have ever taken a corner at any sort of speed they are needed so limitations are not exceeded. Great fun!!

The French car is a Citroen 2CV. It was the French "people's car" -- equivalent to the VW Beetle. Very light, cheap, fuel efficient, simple, etc.

In Panama the mechanics used to call those " the Gillette", for their razor sharp sheet metal.

I still chuckle when I remember an old R&T column. The writer describing his experiences with the "doo-shay-voo's". Said to imagine a 2CV running into something solid, like a box of Klennex. Mass carnage, parts everywhere. Much like the silent movie trick cars. Said he had heard the most horrific crash in his life- two 2CV's had hit head on. The drivers were OK, but the locals were picking parts out of the trees. The fold down windows, the gearshift out of the dash...

He ended the article by saying- "Gee, I really want one."

Citroen--has only half the CVs as my corresponding Renaults, which have 4.

But thanks for thinking of me...
