WTB: YOM License Plates FOUND!

Does anybody know any sources for "year of manufacture" license plates? I've tried all of the web links, Ebay, CL - not to mention local antique and junk dealers. There must be some dealers/collectors out there who don't advertise in all of the usual places. TIA

Maine doesn't allow even exact reproductions of obsolete plates. You must first register your car as an antique, carry those plates in the car and mount a matching pair of "year of manufacture" plates on the front and rear. If you talk to enough different people at DMV, you can sometimes get a solution that fits your needs, as I discovered today.
