eBay & fleaBay- rules/costs

I've bought on eBay but never sold. So,.............

eBay is going to drop "listing fees" (I didn't know there was such a thing)on March 30, IF the seller lists a starting bid of less than ONE buck.

When they sell, eBay is going to take 9% (HOLY SH*T!)of the selling price or FIFTY bucks, whichever is less.

Payment via PayPal involves "merchant fees" (credit card companies pulling out money for themselves).

I've got a new opinion of sellers now(not as bad) and a new opinion of eBay(worse).

So bitchin' about sellers may not be the target you wish to aim at when complaining.

OH GREAT . NOW THEY WILL BE ABLE TO LIST MOUNTAINS OF WORTHLESS STUFF FOR FREE .

THIS SHOULD EXPAND THE NUMBER OF LISTINGS BY THE JUNK

DEALERS EXPONENTIALLY .

( LED SUNVISORS , CURB FEELERS , NEON SPEAKERS & THE LIKE )

THEY WILL LIST THIS STUFF FOR THE 2002 AND MAKE IT HARDER

FIND ANY REAL 2002 PARTS . ( OR PICK ANY KIND OF CAR )

THE LISTING FEES HAVE BEEN THE ONLY THING KEEPING IT UNDER CONTROL AS IT IS .

ME ? I HAVE ALWAYS LISTED ITEMS FOR A PENNY AND NO RESERVE .

THIS WAS TO KEEP THE LISTING FEES AS LOW AS POSSIBLE .

AS FOR PAYPAL , IT IS A NECESSARY EVIL .

IT IS GREAT FOR BUYERS BUT TERRIBLE FOR SELLERS .

SELLERS DON'T LIKE IT BECAUSE OF WHAT IT COSTS IN FEES .

THE BUYERS ARE SO DEPENDENT ON IT NOW THAT YOU CAN'T

EXPECT TO SELL ANYTHING WITHOUT IT .
