"Look. Fake Rolex watches. I hear there is some guy that'll trade you his BMW for one of these."

Damn.

Too bad it wasn't a Car & Driver mag they were looking at. My quote would have been,

"See? Ol' Davis writes about this little BMW. I gotta get me one of them."

...look, it says right there, the brakeman on the bobsled pushes on the little arm just like this during the start. Why can't we try that?

Is fuel efficiency really what we need most desperately? I say what we really need is a car that can be shot when it breaks down.

'Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.'

I like that one. I'm gonna use it.

that's a cool photo, and we can probably figure out for real what they are looking at.

obviously taken at le mans in june 1970, that's most likely a july or august edition of r&t. from the way mcqueen is holding it, and the reaction, they are looking at PS, the photo feature of oddities at the back page.

surely somebody here has a r&t collection to research?

btw, steve wears a tag in the movie- no gauche rolex for him

1970 is definitely pushing it for my dad's collection.... I'll ask though.
