I bought this e30 about a year and a half ago with plans to use it as a daily driver. I am the second owner. The previous owner was a gentleman in the army who bought it from the dealer in 1991. Soon after purchasing the car, the head gasket blew. After my first attempt to fix the problem failed, I decided to swap in a m30. Here are the details on the car:

The body:

- An original Texas car (just moved from San Antonio a couple weeks ago)

- has about 150k miles on it (odometer stopped at 143xxx)

- has a dent on the passenger side fender

- roof paint is faded (a detail may be able to clear it up)

- slight surface rust on front driver's fender where it meets the bumper

- new brake pads (Thanks Jakeb!). Pad wear sensor needed

- new battery - 3 year warranty from Walmart

Interior:

- Factory "comfort" seats - rips in driver's seat others are Clean

- 99% crack free dash - crack in the passenger side indent

- custom shift and e-brake boots - doesn't have the frame to clip in

- premium speakers - factory

- Old aftermarket Alpine head unit

- fuel gauge does not work (however, the low level gas light IS operational)

Drivetrain:

- m30b35 out of a 1989 735i - every, and I mean every, gasket and seal has been replaced (head gasket, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, timing cover gaskets - upper and lower, valve cover gasket, throttle body gasket, water pump gasket, thermostat housing gaskets, rear main seal, front cam seal, front crank seal)

- new timing chain, tensioners and guide rails. incl. oil pump chain tensioner

- new water pump

- rebuilt oil pump - oil pump nut loc-tited on

- new ignition cap, rotor and wires

- new 19lb fuel injectors - Bosch design 3

- New 140A alternator

- 5-speed transmission out of a 1987 535i - shifts fine in every gear

- Polyurethane engine and transmission mounts

- stage 2 racing clutch. new when the swap was done

- new center support bearing

- new clutch master and slave cylinders

- 2.93LSD differential with fresh 90w gear oil

- e24 exhaust manifolds and down pipes mated to factory e30 exhaust

- 2600CFM electric pusher fan controlled by a switch mounted next to the rear defrost switch

- *heater core is not hooked up*

Suspension:

-Everything is completely stock as far as suspension goes.

I finished the swap, after a year of working on it, a few months ago and worked out all the kinks. For what it's worth, I plan to make a 3 hour trip to MD next weekend.

What I am looking for:

I would like a pre '73 model in good running condition with minimal rust (I know, the east coast). Preferably any color but red, but will consider it. If I were to sell the car I would ask for $4500, so trades equal to or less than that would be ideal.

E-mail, PM or call with questions/offers 210-347-4378. Car is located in Allentown, PA.

Thanks,

Trey
