I just made a deal on a car i have always wanted. I have been watching for one of these for a few years now and one popped up..... It is rusty and needs a ton but i am super excited. Planning to go get it on Saturday.

This is something that will more than likly sit until the winter as I have other things to finish before I can get to this.

It is a 59

Here is a quick pic.

Nice 500 Jake.

You’ll have fun with that one. What's going on with the front lights. I've never seen them protruding like that.

We have a couple that resort in our town that have one.

They had it for sale last summer but it was way too high. It was restored but was priced way up there. If they bring it this summer I’ll shoot the shit out of it and email you the pics.

Is that a 68 Charger under the cover to the right in the background?

I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m getting the last details & rooms for the V@V & Twisties tour & South Bend show. When I lock that solid I’ll email you with details.

Got a guy down in Holland that has about 9 Fiats. This guy’s hook on them.

I’m partial to the 59 1200TV or the 52 8V myself. Like were gonna see these around here eh? Yeah right. Good luck with the new project Jake.

If you need help give him a call. Fiats are his forte & is well versed in them, Merc's, Alfa's, BMW the list goes on.

He can get you anything Fiat wise if your having trouble finding it. Very talented young man.

That's an exciting project, Jake!!!

My first car (in 1966) was one of the grey-with-red-stripe Nuova 500 "Sport" models with suicide doors, frog-eyed and Americanized and Deluxe interiors. I believe it was a 1961.

Sold it to buy a tan 1965 600D.

Unfortunately, Fiats in Michigan rusted seemingly before your very eyes!

Still, I'd love to have one of the Abarth-ized 500s -- a 595 or 695SS.

yes Delia this one is rusty....but it can be saved. I will learn a ton from this project just like any other I have done.

If you can tell this also has the big lights (which may change) and the suicide doors.

I will post more pictures when I get it home.

The big lights were a sure sign of a 500 that was made for the USA. They were sent over here to fulfill our safety regulations

Here's an album from a guy in Washington State who has the *EXACT* Fiat Nuova 500 model that I owned back in 1966:

Might be of help when you get down to the details.

The rainy day project is gonna be bailing the water out of it! There's no roof!

Always like these off the cuff cars. When the occasional Lambo, Ferrari, other exotic, etc... passes by it's no big deal. But, when these oddballs go by, I crane my neck around to get a look.
