I've wanted one of these for a while and when I saw Amazon's price, I couldn't pass it up. They usually go for $300+. I got it in the mail on Friday and I've already checked out the interior condition of my muffler and a bunch of other stuff. I do kind of wish that it could snap a picture, but it's really usefull nonetheless.

Easily worth $99!

the higher end units come with articulated tips that can swing up and down and side to side which would allow you to look up at your valves from the spark plug opening.

it appears that you are limited to a straight-ahead shot with the one shown. not bad for $99, though.

As cool as these things are. I have absolutley no idea how one would be usefull other than for those frequent muffler internal inspections. Other than the "cool" factor. You can figure out everything via tests that are more accurate than you can "see" with that.

I've seen this one with a Color detachable screen @ harbor freight

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=66550

usually onsale for $99 or less. Wanted it but couldn't find a use for it.

Maybe for something like ring lands coming off your pistons...

but most of the cameras are bigger than the plug holes.

Oh, hey, maybe if you thought your clutch plate was coming apart.

For working on newer cars, it'd be useful for looking around

inside the engine bay!

I used to laugh at the little mirrors- on- sticks,

but I have a couple now, and there

are a few things that they really help with.
