air filter clips... where to find?

Hi there --

I have a 72 roundie with the carb shown in the picture. I'm assuming the air filter kit was added afterwards because it has some kind of k&n style filter on it (see picture).

The problem is that I've managed to lost ALL of the four clips that hold the filter onto the carb plate. Basically it's four metal clips that hold the metal top plate onto the filter and thus onto the carb plate.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find these?

Thanks!

That weber site is kind of goofy... To order four clips is 5 dollars plus almost 11 dollars for shipping. Kind of a rip off, but I know how it goes for small items. On a whim I checked to see how much shipping was if I replaced the whole kit; the base, the top, a new filter AND four clips... shipping is now just 6 dollars!

Hah!

Did you try some other sources for Weber carb parts? Redline, CB Performance, C1P and even your neighborhood auto parts store (look in the "custom" parts aisle.

Here is one (courtesy of friendly VW folks):

Doh! I didn't mean to imply anything bad about them at all, in fact I went ahead and ordered the full kit from them for 28 bucks including shipping; which seemed reasonable. I have my own mail order business and dealing with the computer code to accommodate shipping prices on multiple items is a real hassle; I think that's what was going on here. Their system probably saw "4 items" and just gave a base shipping that didn't really account for the fact that they didn't weigh anything...

I look forward to getting my new air cleaner from them!
