I really need a seat since I cant stand how high my e30 seat sits.

im either looking for something really cheap to put in for now, i dont mind condition.

or something nice that will stay with the car when i start on the interior.

Do you mind if I ask how you installed your E30 seats? I've got a pair that I'll need to install in a 73 shell, and I would like to know how much work I've got in front of me, parts/materials to have on hand, etc.

'02. He welded up an angle steel base of sorts.

I searched several times on variations of "E30 seats install swap etc." and managed to scan the first few pages of search returns, but this is the first I've seen of Mike's project--looks like just what the doctor ordered.
