I'm also thinking of "not" having the electric choke. I'd like to investigate having it be manual. I think that I'm having some choke troubles. I kind of think that with my car the less automatic the better. : )

How would I go about converting an electric choke to a manual choke?

To convert from electric to manual is easy. Just remove electric choke, and go buy manual choke kit from autozone and put it in. You need to run cable thru firewall though. Then you can give the electric choke that you remove To me, electric is more convenient if setup right.
