Classic motor show - Finland

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I just came from a Classic motor show in Lahti, Finland. I thought you guys might enjoy couple of photo links as some rare cars are even more rare in US. I didn't take any pics myself because there's internet full of them anyway.

Highlight for me was to witness the first and only M1 in Finland imported this year. Also first time I saw the 328 brought in country couple of years ago.

Well, it's pretty much middle spring here. Snow is gone but it was only 7 deg C yesterday. The place was some kind of a fair center which I believe has many kind of uses. The park outside was for visitors with cars over 25 years old.

There was a story behind that one. It was designed and built by an engineer who wanted a lightweight sports car. It was some time ago, maybe before WWII? There's alloy wheels with integrated brake drums and molds used to make them in the picture. The car was driven but I guess he had some improvements in his mind and it was taken apart. It was found year ago from some barn in this condition.

MY 1963 MESSERSCHMITT KR-200 WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN FINLAND .

THERE ARE MARKINGS ON THE DASH IN A LANGUAGE THAT NO ONE CAN READ !

THERE WERE DONE BY THE IMPORTER BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OWNER's MANUAL AVAILABLE THAT HIS CUSTOMERS COULD READ .

I LEFT THEM ON BECAUSE IT IS A COOL PART OF THE HISTORY OF THE

CAR AND I WILL ALWAYS BE THE FIRST ONE TO THE "FINNISH" LINE .

THE HAD A LOT OF INTERESTING CARS THERE AND APPARENTLY STILL DO .

YOU CAN SEE SOME NEAT CARS IN THIS OLD FINNISH FILM IN BETWEEN THE SCENES WITH THE MESSERSCHMITTS :
