A "rear differential" and a "front grill"?

There is only one differential and the set of grills. (Besides the proper term is a final drive)

I figure if you had a front differential and a rear grill, you'd better turn your seats around. This boxy car is shaped a lot alike front and rear, I know which which end is the front by hinge location of the side doors and by where the door handle location (so it must be the rear door handle).

Referring to an 02 of course, that's what this board is all about.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Remember when they would graft two VW Beetle front ends together? And then there were those Studebakers from the early 50's that you couldn't tell if they were coming or going.

Ah, but I'm showing my age.........

Thx, Jim, for jumping on this. It's been kinda grinding on me for awhile when I see references to "rear differentials". A couple of times I've been tempted to ask if everything is alright with their front differential, but have bitten my tongue. Maybe we have a lot of ex-Audi owners on here.

Well, on my truck there's a diff in front and the rear side

windows have grills behind them...

Yeah, I think I've poked at people who do that, too...

but it's mostly semantics, I guess.

Amusingly, an Audi doesn't have a front diff as an assembly-

it's a transaxle!

(yeah, I know, there's a diff in there somewhere, but it's not

the same, dammit, it's just not the same...)

I'm right there with you on this one...

I restored a 63 Studebaker Lark a few years ago, sold it to a guy, it had a chevy differential and the guy that bought it had a "Grill" in his mouth
