  1. Whilst the 1660001 series were from Jan 1968 and on, I have info (unconfirmed) that two were manufactured in 1967. It would be interesting to know if your friend has the build date for 1660002.
  2. Just to be clear, as you are missing the 7th number; we are talking about 1660002?
  3. Yes, it was he (Heritage Motorsports) that Ebayed it 2 years ago.
  4. Wow! Indeed. However, it is the 2nd oldest that we know of. 1660013 (also with sunroof) was on Ebay a couple of years ago in your neck of the woods Steve (Atlanta), although, condition-wise, 1660016 has a better chance of survival.
  5. Esty, So sorry to hear this; I'm hoping you have a speedy recovery. So grateful for you for making the Touring carpet and I promise to send pics when (If!!) I get the car back from the body shop. Take it easy. Les PS Thanks Steve for letting us know.
  6. Here's another for you Steve. My poor neglected project car.
  7. My Touring was delivered to BMW Concessionaires GB Ltd, London, UK, on 19 Nov '73. It was originally sold on 5 Sep '74 (long time in showroom!) by Eric G. Hunt Ltd, Leeds, UK to a Mrs Ivy Green. I am the 3rd Owner.

  9. FWIW: The car was owned by a Gitendra Chitty (Indian?), Westchester Cty, NY from 2008 to 2013. The car then appeared on Ebay (probably by a Dealer) in 2013 located in Walnut Creek, CA; this was pre-resto. Pcs below are from 2012.
  10. FWIW: According to the Blue Book: Front camber should be 0*30' +/- 30' This is stock with 150lb in each front seat, 150lb on the rear seat, full tank of gas and 46lb in trunk on LH side. Rear camber should be 2* +/- 30' negative
  11. Try Steve at https://www.blunttech.com/ (contact info at bottom of page) They show up on his Site so he'll know.
  12. Very strange indeed. Maybe one or the other has upgraded. If you go to Ireland's and rogers websites they show the exact same clutch line. This is from the Ireland site and this from Rogers site (it even has I.E. noted for the part) http://www.rogerstii.com/bmw-2002-long-clutch-line-for-5-speed-conversion/
  13. Whilst I have no early (short) bumper pieces to confirm, I believe there is a contour difference between the short & long-sided bumpers. The bumper joiners (for those who choose no overriders) are different. The later bumpers have a "flat" that the rubber strip sits up against, and the short bumpers may not have this.
  14. Getting used front ones that are not bent out of shape is difficult, unless they are the USA '73 style with the extra support. The Euro (pre '73 USA) ones are like $25 each new, so at least you know they will be the correct shape. Part # 51 11 1 815 493 (left) and 51 11 1 815 494 (right) New rears also around $25 each. Part # 51 12 5 470 060. Used rears are more likely to have kept their shape and can be easily straightened out if they have been dinged.
  15. Although difficult to see, the door sticker notes manufacture as 1/71. Unfortunately, cannot read the VIN on it. However, I believe 1679260 was the last one built in 1970, so this car would be a '71 model built in late '70. Maybe a different door has been fitted?
  16. On Jaymic's website....go to 02 Parts, then 02 Body Repair Panels, it's the top item on page 2.
  17. yeah also jaymic charge £288 per servo for a rebuild (per servo) or about £350 each for a new one..... as i have lost of work to do on the car im trying to keep this cost down a bit hahaha I bought a pair from Jaymic a few years ago for my Touring. Couldn't find anyone this side of the pond (at that time) that dealt with the twin Servo type. I've bought two '02s for less than the cost of those, but, it was good for peace of mind.
  18. Well, you're in the right place. Jaymic sells recon Servos for RHD '02s if you have the coin. If you can get a "used" one for cheap, you could then dismantle it and see what parts are required to make it new.
  19. Nick I would be very wary of how this one was restored. They even put back on the old trunk seal and there's what looks like a huge gap between the left wing and inner wing. My rear carpeting looked better than this one's, but it being replaced. I wonder if they removed the carpet over the rear shock towers; it's amazing what you can find under there.
  20. 1974 tii Touring on Ebay, although the car is in the Netherlands. http://www.ebay.com/itm/391351456844?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Stated as top condition and fully restored. I guess carpeting wasn't part of the resto. Has the wrong (early) door and rear side panels. Why would someone polish up the hood latch bar and not replace worn out carpets (particularly the rear/trunk sections)?
  21. I first saw this car on Ebay 2 years ago (same Seller). At that time he stated the car had just been repainted Atlantik; it looks like Riviera. So I wonder how much this Seller knew about the car at the time of that auction. As had been said, if the interior seats/panels are original then they were probably original to another car. The lighter blue carpet is likely original if, indeed, the car was originally Riviera. Would need a good looking over before purchase.
