  1. I miss the TX get-to-gethers. Maybe next year we'll trek from TN to TX, if, the Touring refurb is finished. Just started the stripdown. Amazing that BMW cannot supply a rear hatch shock that lasts more than a couple of years. The original pair lasted 25 years; I'm on the 2nd replacement set now, and, obviously, need a 3rd.
  2. Hi Esty, Moved Oct last year from San Antonio. We're still unpacking!!! '02s seem pretty scarce in TN; I may have them all!
  3. In the "Body & Interior" section of the Faq, we have..... http://www.bmw2002faq.com/_/technical-articles/body-and-interior/02-replacement-seats-r63 Unfortunately, since the faq upgrade it appears the pics disappeared.
  4. It was for sale (Craigslist) middle of 2014 in Ann Arbor, MI. It was rumoured to have had some severe rust. Maybe that is fixed now?? According to the mileage, it hasn't moved (under its own steam) since then (or the odo's broken).
  5. 2378401 = 2002 built in Jan '76. However, 2578401 would be a 2002 built late (Nov?) '71 (ie. a '72 model).
  6. And, some underhood stickers are in a unique place. The front seats were different when the car was on Ebay in 2009.
  7. According to the front grille, door panels and rear "2002" badge, it's a early/mid '73 Touring. Maybe it sat in the dealership a good while before being sold originally (3/75?)
  8. I know of 3 RHD Tourings in the US. I have one of them.
  9. That car supposedly sold for $25k on Ebay late 2008. Add a 7 year resto to the value............real deep pockets.
  10. Here's a pic from my "manual" manuf 30 Sep '75 2002. Appears the sticker is same for auto & manual.
  11. Steve, I have a huge collection of '02 pics through my collecting VINs. I just scrutinised the pics for a junction between cars with VIN tags and cars without. The start and finish of the VIN range could be off a little, but I believe it's close. Now I'll see if I can nail down the "famous" tii timing assist cut-out.
  12. It would seem '76 '02s built between end Feb/beginning March and through to end May/beginning June '76 had no regular VIN plate. This would seem to be an awful long time for BMW to have just run out of them and waited for a new supply. Manual gearbox cars from approx 2379600 through the 274XXXX to approx. 2744100, and auto cars from approx. 2391500 to approx. 2392900 had no VIN plates. I have no clue about seat upholstery!
  13. Classic! They don't make them (films, or cars) like that anymore.
  14. This one was for sale (Toronto) in the Roundel back in 1992. It was stated to have had a "ground up" resto. Sad. Marshall L. parted out 2763484 and noted that it was built 19 Feb '73; this one could have been the same day.
  15. It was the "BIll of Sale/Delivery Doc" that was on Ebay, not the car.
  16. I believe that wording is entered by Ebay, not the Seller. When I was working in Germany a couple of years ago, I changed my "Ebay shipping address" to the Hotel where I was staying. Prior to that (with my USA address) I would also see that message. Then, when I trolled Ebay USA, I would see the message "the Seller may not ship to Germany".
  17. Yes. As Preyupy posted, but also there was an HD set for the Touring. Front 31 33 1 112 189 Rear 33 53 1 112 101 Two rear shocks 33 52 1 108 041 (gas) and 33 52 1 108 672 Lastly, a reinforced Wishbone 31 12 2 614 006
  18. To bolt the brackets to the car you need Hex Bolt M8 x 30 long plus wave washer. To bolt the bumper to the bracket you need "domed" head M8 x 40 long plus wave washer & M8 Hex Nut.
  19. Oh Yeah, me too. The US could ease its traffic congested cities by using the UK's MOT.
  20. Here's a pic of the speedo when the car was on Ebay last year (July) & was being offered by a Broker. 109k, 209k ?? Car was previously in CT. 2581713 1s.bmp
  21. Chassis # 3635368 would be a Nov~Dec '72 manufacture; round taillights et al. Did Schnitzer take 5 years to use the body or did they buy it on the used car market?
