  1. The US plates don't fit unless (like the Cabrio pic) you drill additional fixing holes to suit the US plate. If you use the Euro plate holes, the US plate sits on the bumper. I guess you could drill additional holes in the US plate.
  2. How about shipping back home Bo? I remember my last Mid-America well........hehe. The T-shirt is staying home this year!
  3. Ah! the dreaded MOT, I remember it well. If they had a test like that in Texas, the roads would be clear!
  4. The Ebay Seller (c_dsl) has had both the Cabrio & Turbo on Ebay several times over the past 4 years or more. Maybe they will sell this time.
  5. The colour decal is not correct for that period (see pic of correct one). The car was originally Fjord, according to Ebay Seller back in 2007, and reportedly had rust in the wrong places.
  6. I'd be grateful if you could send me your list, to add to mine. I sent mine to Matts back in 2011 and have no additional 150XXXX VINs since then. lescartwright at juno dot com
  7. He he. Having the steering wheel on the "correct" side has resulted in a few disadvantages.
  8. Lever is on the same side.........bloody nuisance if you have a RHD car.
  9. Correct, and, and the letters are red I believe denoting (usually) a dealership/car sales place. Maybe German auto manufacturers also have red lettered plates?
  10. AND, there is the 1 series M 3 door over here in Germany (where I am currently). It is not, apparently, called a Touring, but is, IMHO, the only successor to the original Touring. 11. Should I assume the hood seal is no longer for sale, or, already sold????
  12. If you have your original 40+ year Euro headlights (different from the ones in the US '02s) then the reflectors have probably lost their shine. Lights will be no better than glow-worms. If you're into originality, you can still (I believe) buy new reflectors, but there were at least two different kinds and two suppliers (Bosch & Hella) just to complicate matters. If you're not into originality, then swap over to US headlamp buckets and you can find several types of lamp to fit.
  13. 140mph speedo standard on all RHD tiis, and, apparently a mixture of other RHD '02s. My RHD Touring (late '73) came with one. They come up from time to time on Ebay UK, so, not quite as rare as the Seller states.
  14. I posted this on the previous Hazard Switch message, but it dropped off the page. http://www.zeebuck.com/bimmers/tech/hazardswitchfix/hazardswitchfix.html http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/33070-can-you-fix-a-hazard-switch/?hl=hazard+switch+can+repaired#entry725385
  15. This is the hazard switch fix I saved a while back. maybe the one you're thinking of Mike. http://www.zeebuck.com/bimmers/tech/hazardswitchfix/hazardswitchfix.html Edit: Words to go with the above link: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/topic/33070-can-you-fix-a-hazard-switch/?hl=hazard+switch+can+repaired#entry725385
  16. To get your manufacture date, elivery date and original colour, email your VIN to one of these:- Andreas.Harz@partner.bmwgroup.com info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com
  17. Email sent re under hood seal. Les
  18. I'll take a large Chris, to 78112. Never did get one when they first came out. Cheers.
  19. Look up the '70s part # at RealOem, then go to getbmwparts.com and insert the part #.
  20. According to the Nov '13 Ebay Seller (Aliso Viejo, CA) 3rd Owner, the prev Owner was in Malibu and orig Owner was on East Coast.
  21. Here is another option for you as you are in Bulgaria. Shipping would be cheaper but not sure they if do a salt & pepper carpet. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Kompl-Teppichsatz-fur-BMW-1502-1602-1802-2002-Lim-meliert-verschiedene-Farben-/221284606331?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item338597217b I found this Seller on Ebay Germany a while back. I have no affiliation or experience with them. Personally, I recommend Esty's carpets as I have experience with hers.
  22. I checked recently for the bars/brackets for my Touring. Max's website had them for like $20 each. Considering the price, I would get a new pair. I have several "used" sets and they are all shapes - different.
  23. Curious. If you do not subscribe, how do you know it's useless? Personally, I can save on parts (discount) by being a member........and, trust me, I shop.
  24. It was for sale in July for $6000. Probably a more realistic price considering the rust. Pics below from the July sale. No clue if the latest seller has addressed this issue.
