  1. Price is a little high. It sold (reportedly) on Ebay last November for $6900. It was in MA then.
  2. Two years ago (Netherlands) it was for sale for $33k. Wonder how much Volante want for it? It has been resto'd and has had a "late" nose panel fitted. It was apparently first registered in Jan '73, so it should have an "early" nose panel.
  3. For the same price you could have had this one (probably still for sale) back in May. UK is not a happy place for Turbos apparently.
  4. $50 is a bargain. Try finding one for that for an '83 633csi. I think these are gold lined!
  5. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-2002-TURBO-FIRST-EVER-MADE-DAMAGED-SALVAGE-REPAIRABLE-/261240009873?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cd31e3491#ht_762wt_1257 Shame.
  6. For those with a battery back there, there is this option that was also an '02 accessory back in the day from BMW:- http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-1600-2002-Trunk-Storage-Box-Reproduction-NEW-/221248054072?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3383696338&vxp=mtr#ht_871wt_1020
  7. Who'd want to pay $6500 for that, when you can buy a completed one for $78,800. Check the Golf 72 tii (top of page) https://www.2002ad.com/pages/carsforsale.cfm
  8. Part # 11 00 9 056 520 Remanufactured short engine for a 2002tii Put that part # into Max's Site and that's what comes up.
  9. Richard, I refer to the Blue Parts Books as infamous sometimes, as they can be as confusing as RealOem. Some parts that you would expect to find in one section are hidden away in a section you would never think of. I think the designers of the book had a sense of humour. Overall they are excellent are very useful if you have to order parts from the Dealer as they have no clue.
  10. Ok, I have to ask why loctite and hard torque? It's supposed to have a wave washer under the nut. Am I missing something, as I just do a regular tightening on mine?
  11. The part no 26 11 1 107 832 should have taken you to page 26/7 (after being directed to the page that shows you that Guibo is also used on E114, E12, E23, E24, E3 and E9 first) The picture shows Guibos 10, 13 & 15 (10 is only for manual cars). According to RealOem, Guibo 13 is for both manual & auto cars......the BMW "Blue" parts book only shows it for autos. Go here... http://www.2002tii.org/kb/55 and you can download the Famous/Infamous "blue" book. Pages 512-513 show the Guibo.
  12. The "Blue" parts book lists Guibo 26 11 1 107 832 for the 2002 Auto (still available). It is a 6-bolt 12mm Guibo. This looks like the one you need. It's also found on a variety of BMW cars, E3 included. Also listed is 26 11 1 203 783 (superceeded by 26 11 1 109 603) which is the flat type also used on 2002 Auto et al. Blue book is confusing (to me anyway), but if your VIN is 2520763 or below/before you need 26 11 1 107 832. If your VIN is 2520873 and above/later, you should need the flat style Guibo. If your VIN is in between.....lottery!
  13. That 1 Owner moved around a bit! It was on Ebay Oct '07 in Berkeley, CA Then Ebay Jan '08 in San Mateo, CA (BimmerBros) The Ebay Nov '09 in Palm City, FL. and now in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Wonder where it was (& how many Owners) the previous 20 odd years. Sure some of these Sellers are/maybe Dealers and that would concern me (going from one to another). I would look very closely at this one, especially the rear driver shock. Pics from '07-08 sale.
  14. 2586808 - 2002 (US) manual gearbox built December 1972. Thus, your block came from a 1972 built ('73 model) 2002.
  15. I got one like that. Couldn't find anything obvious. A good while later when fitting a new carpet and had the interior stripped, I could see that the car had a new complete passenger rear fender/side fitted. Guess it was in a shunt at some point in its life. I'll fix it later! Left rear has more camber than the right. It looks worse in real life than the pics.
  16. That car was for sale Jan '12 in NY and was Malaga with a sunroof then.
  17. Started life at Glas. Was a BMW/Glas 1967 3000 V8 Fastback. http://www.pietro-frua.de/1967_bmw3000coupe.htm The gauge cluster for the 2002 GT4 looks like what I remember in my old '72 5 series. Didn't know they had that cluster around in 1969.
  18. Let us know the VIN, and we'll tell you exactly what your girlfriend has.
  19. I thought it was a ti, not a tii. Did you ever make it to Austin, TX?
  20. Your location could affect sale price? FWIW The Silver car (new resto) was on Ebay 2 yrs ago for a good while @ $60k. Was in Brasil. Did not sell. The Red car (older resto) same seller as silver car. $30k. Did not sell. The Blue car was for sale 5 yrs ago, non-running project, for $3500 in the US.
  21. Oh hell, over a year has gone by and I still haven't progressed on the "ultimate sticker" info. I'll get a round tuit.....trust me!
  22. Stickers positions are an art form. Cars manufactured in the same month or two had differences. Usually the coolant sticker is nearer the front of the car and the battery sticker behind......sometimes they are swapped. The oil sticker can be found either to the left of the driver side shock or in the plenum by the windshield/wiper motor. I've (hopefully) attached a few pics of 74tiis showing the oil sticker. I started collecting info on sticker positions a few years ago.....one day I will collate it all!
  23. He must have #6 or the alternator would be lying on the floor....heheh. If it's #6 then the BMW part # is 12 31 8 602 037 and can be had for $10,31 + shipping from this place (for example). However, I'm sure someone will have a spare, so try posting on the Parts Wanted page. http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/index.cfm?searchText=12318602037&make=BMW&action=oePartSearch&siteid=214672

  25. Interesting. Both VINs relate to cars manufactured in Nov '74. One manual and one Auto trans. Maybe even on the assy line at the same time and "stamping error"?
