  1. Do you mean "325iboy"? He's in Newville (near Carlisle), PA. I think the I-76 runs near there. The link below gives the address. HTH. http://www.crbimmers.com/
  2. As far as I know, all the Dianas were manufactured in 1970. Mr. Sauermann's 1690211 was registered 5 Jan '71 (according to the papers in your message). Mr. Cahsel states his Diana was manufactured Aug '71 - really? or is this a typo. Do you know the VIN of Cahsel's Diana?
  3. What colour is your car? Looks too light for Taiga. Looks like a later (5 Series) colour.....maybe Reseda Green?
  4. Every time I see a pic of your '02, I think....perfection. Maybe one day I'll get to see it in person.
  5. This appeared at the Hotel (Weiyuan, China). Alpina badge, maybe carbon fibre hood, trunk and part spoilers. Is it real? We can't even get edible food here, and this shows up!
  6. FYI The pics are the same ones in his Nov '11 Craigslist ad when he wanted $18k for it. Time for some new pics? If it's an orig CA car, why does it have a relatively new CA tag?
  7. According to info I have collected, model '71 1971 = 422 1972 = 2797 1973 = 1302 model '73 1973 = 794 1974 = 2133 1975 = 1 Model '73 was made up to Dec '74, however, it appears one sneaked out in Jan '75.
  8. From pics that I have, the white stickers started late '70 up into '73.
  9. One of those came on my Nov '73 Touring. But mine you turn it for the 3 speed non-working blower motor and pull it out for the non-working rear window defrost!!!
  10. Assuming you have a 4spd, try it at 75 to 80mph (3800~4000rpm) My Touring quietens down considerably at 75 compared to 70.
  11. +1 with CD. The old board was basic and easy, just like my 2002s. I feel like there should be a "user manual" supplied. The only way I was allowed to post a picture was to go through all my posts back 5 years or so, and delete all the pictures to get below the 15MB quotia. Now all my old posts are missing the pics, and these were relevant to the messages. Oh well, I guess I will learn.
  12. Ok, now I have deleted every picture I attached to messages over the past umpteen years, I can now attach pics again.
  13. Cars that have an ETS Moorkens VIN tag were assembled in Belgium (Kontich), so I understand. At the time (70s) Belgium had high import tax, so shipping the car in pieces and assembling inside Belgium reduced this greatly. Honestly not sure if any parts were actually manufactured in Belguim. Pretty much the same as the cars that were sent to & assembled in Uruguay. Edit: found some pics of two '72 '02s (1 is a tii). Edit (again): well apparently I cannot upload pics. Anyway, both pics show the colour sticker above the München VIN tag, and the Moorkens VIN tag same way around as the other but down toward the headlight.
  14. 3 cars away from being the last USA 2002!!
  15. After my footballing career finished in months, I apprenticed at Loewy Eng, Bournemouth. I remember the fitters sending us apprentices for a "long weight", "copper magnet", "tartan paint" etc. Happy days.
  16. Well, this place has them for $3.34 each. A decent saving on $5 each, but still up there. http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/index.cfm?make=BMW&year=&searchText=51111815611&action=oePartSearch&siteid=214672
  17. We discussed this car a bit when Jim first saw it at Korman and someone else astutely linked it to the '75 Black Series listed by Aston Martin of New England. Wow: looking at that gorgeous underside (not to mention the Lux package, Italian specs, super low mileage, et al), this seems like a true bargain for $30K! I'm assuming, Les, that the $30K sale pre-dated the $45K listing and we're now looking at it after Aston Martin of New England sold it? Steve, it was on Ebay Mar '10 (Boulder, CO). The Seller bought the car in Italy & shipped it back to the US in '07. Seems sad to leave a $45k '02 outside in the elements. Steve
  18. But not the door seals.....that's the remaining 2%?
  19. CL 241638 was its tag/licence number when it was in Sicily (Italy). The car reportedly sold out of Boulder, CO, for $30k, and was for sale at Aston Martin of New England for $45k last October. Reportedly it has only done only 11k kilometers since new. VIN starts with 375.....
  20. Us Brits know how to shop for sure! They kinda look like Michelen man seats, or it's the beer clouding my vision.
  21. I know they have been trying to unload it for 18 months now. Prior to that it was in Rochester, NY.
  22. Wow, a Sahara Touring! Oh, roofrack.....no clue.
  23. That cardomain entry dates back to 2003. The car sold out of OH to PA in '76 and then to Moorpark, CA, late '76. The CA owner had it on Ebay Jun '10. It had 57k miles, on the wrong "silver dollar" speedo back in '03.
  24. Unfortunately I'm going to miss the event again. I had it all planned, then my Company extended me out here (China) until mid May. Next year for sure!
  25. t After I posted about the structure I was thinking the lamp post damaged it more. I like the top, would it be a bad idea structurally to install one? Ok, if it is done correctly. I had a Touring (parts car) that had a Webasto fitted and there were stress cracks at all 4 corners where the roof was cut for the Webasto. I assume it had been fitted by some back street cowboys.
