Probably a Webasto roof; that's the 2nd one I know of on a Turbo and both cars are in the UK.
Webasto was (maybe still is) real popular in the UK and they were added to all sorts of cars. I bought a '74 3.0csi back in early 80s that had one.
The roofs had a tendency, when closed, to balloon up at speed. Can't imagine what the roof would do on a Turbo at 130mph; probably fly off!
This is going to take a brave resto.

I would have thought for a '74 you would want the black ones. I'm not real sure when BMW changed from chrome to black, but '74 sounds about right.
However,

HTH
It was on Ebay last month. It was in Annville, PA and sold (according to Ebay) for $20,269.
They should have cleaned up the guage cluster rings when they repainted it. They look worse than my Touring that has 120k on it.
Javistor,
Apologies for taking over your post here, but another Touring (and in TX) is real special.
Let it be a lesson to you for getting to Bill's free car just ahead of me (hehe).
Good to know Bert's car gets out now & again. I always see it under a blanket.
I replaced mine about 7~8 yrs ago when the bloody hatch fell on me. It was a bugger to get back out.
I bought them from Walloth & Nesch in Germany, and have since bought a pair for spares when they had them on sale.
Part # 51 24 1 803 128
Currently they are 44Euro each ($57).
My normal (cheap as you can get) place in the US has them for $64 each.

I keep a record of all 02s, please email me your VIN, exterior colour. I know of 55 Tourings in the US, so I may already have it.

Bloody hell, that dates back to the very early 1900s.
I wouldn't leave it on the car unattended.
I have my Dad's old AA badge that I put on for events, but nowhere near the age of yours.

This can also give problems. When I had my Touring refurb'd in the 80s, (and there was no colour sticker under the hood), I had the nearest match to the underdash paint. The car was then painted Jadegrün. Only years later did I find out the car was originally Amazonasgrün.
R&T had permission to publish it once, and they paid me. As far a copyright, I haven't copyrighted it, but I took it and have the negs, so as far as I'm concerned, I own it. Isn' that correct?
Possession is 9/10ths of the law!
Originally the bumpers had all slots (total 17), but, the end slot (toward the wheel arch) in each side bumper had the bolt. Hence 15 clips and 2 bolts.
Rear bumpers with all holes would want 17 bolts.
