  1. Sometime back I bought a rear side bumper for my Touring, it too had the holes not slots (maybe aftermarket?). You have to fork out $$$ and use the bolts that are normally just on the extreme end of the bumper. However, if the clips are now plastic, perhaps bolts are better, even if expensive.
  2. I'd like the Opel wheels. Had them on my first '02 way back when. They look just like Borranis.
  3. As noted above, it is from a 520. BMW 520/4 4720001 to 4727009 Made from 09/73 to 08/76
  4. My records show that this tii (2764034) was:- On Craigslist for sale in Charlotte, NC, from Sep '09 & Apr '10. On Ebay - Glenn Ellyn, IL, Jul '12. This is consistent with your message. Mileage was stated as 125k when it was in NC; I see it's down to 84k now.
  5. It's been done. The pic I've posted shows one in an '02 Touring. Apparently the dash sticks out into the cabin further than the '02 dash. Mind you don't bash your knee when you get in.
  6. The parts book (diagram 31/5 dated 7/76) shows it as a flat washer, unlike CDs picture. Part # 07 11 9 931 089
  7. I did that in my Touring a few years ago at the San Antonio dealership. I was asked to move and park it in the customer parking spaces. Needless to say, I don't go there very often.
  8. Wonder where they will turn up next Ray. I'll be watching!!!
  9. However, it is "An all original 1972 BMW 2002 TARGA with less than 43,800 miles." Well, not really. I believe I have seen photos of this car in the past couple of years, can't remember where. Found it!! It was on Ebay Jan '12 - Seller was d_csl and it had a buy it now of $50k. Some of the pics in this new auction are from the earlier auction. The VIN posted relates to a Touring tii that d_csl also ebayed a while back. The Targa was actually in Germany in Jan '12 and $50k did not include shipping!
  10. The '76 Inka was on Ebay Apr '12; Seller was a Dealer? in Irvine, CA. This new Seller used the same pics as the Apr '12 auction.
  11. Another screwed up VIN (3424275); this one is a Polaris Touring tii and it was on ebay a while back.
  12. With that VIN (1650228) it should be RHD!
  13. No Alpina. had a 320i motor when it was sold in 2006 in PA. Was on Ebay in Jun '10 (Moorpark, CA) & had 2 x 40s & 5 speed and RUST.
  14. Larry, Trpa mirrors are definately correct for a '72. They were actually original to my late '73 build Touring.
  15. Good point. I know Mike's book had several errors, but, before Mike's book there was nothing. I've only flipped through this new one so far and there are errors. I expected more of this new book and was somewhat disappointed. Pity Mike decided not to be involved.
  16. You'll have to come down to San Antonio next time Paul. They don't open the hood; they only open the door to attach the new sticker to the windscreen.
  17. If you lean toward a project car, I have one I need to let go. 1976 Sienabraun just south of San Antonio. If interested contact me though my email button above.
  18. Great. Hope it works out for you. Cheers
  19. Trey, His name (I believe) was Teran, and he did (still is?) work at Rackspace. His bmw2002faq name is sega01 and he did post that the car was for sale Nov '12, so he may still have it. HTH
  20. This Touring has the correct parts etc. The VIN (3460772) is a model 73 Touring. Model 73 Tourings were built from 8/73 to 4/74. This one is probably Oct/Nov '73 build date. If the Touring had been officially sold in the US then probably it would have come under the US' model regime....all from 8/73 would be called '74 model year. In Europe they did not do that, so this is a late '73 car. I believe (I could be wrong) in Germany the car's year was sorta kinda determined when it was first sold and registered (titled).
  21. Paul, #80 on the attached Touring wiring key/diagram.
  22. Agree with the custom rear lights, however, BMW supplied a terminal in the rear of the Tourings for a rear window wiper, although I do not think they offered the wiper kit as an accessory.
  23. The Aston Martin place had it for sale Oct last year. They were asking $45,000.
