  1. If it is metallic Silver, then it would be Polaris.
  2. Wouldn't worry too much about it. I bought my Touring in '86 with 70k on it and it deposited light blue smoke over the cars behind. It now has 120k and it has got worse, but, every cloud (no pun) has a silver lining, the drivers behind me keep their distance. No need for a 3rd brake light.
  3. Andrew, If not already taken.....I'll take the turn signals. If ok, let me know your PayPal address. Les
  4. It was manufactured Dec '73, so, it's a '74 Targa. Came from the Birmingham area (UK) and was originally from London.
  5. Yep! Aug '10 on Ebay in UT. Jan-Mar '11 on Ebay in CO. Mileage is always quoted at 44k.
  6. I have an orig pair squirreled away for my Touring refurb. I was curious how yours would form around the flat surface (for the rubber strip) on the later chrome bumpers. Do you have a close up pic you could post?
  7. Your auction suggests they fit all years. There was a bumper profile change in '71. Which will they fit, early or late?
  8. Here's an amusing Site. Death to the Gatso. http://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2.htm
  9. Good work Jim. I see you have some Roundel mags that I am missing. I'll take a look at what you have posted and get back to you for, probably, more info.
  10. Earliest I have on your 2760136 is....Roundel ad Jan '86. For sale by John Estep, Arlington, VA. Not sure if the ad mentioned Arlington, or I got that from the area code. I know some area codes cover a wide area.
  11. I've seen worse. Looks like he may have the rear wheels chocked.
  12. What!!! Not interested in the Tourings in front of them? he he....I was there! Especially that uber nice Jade one.
  13. As noted in post above, the sealing ring is available over here (US). You might try Walloth & Nesch as they are a little closer to you.
  14. Interesting read. I guess the last paragraph in the article was/is incorrect.
  15. Hey Randy, Looked a little late I guess. What is showing now is only a square light car. The VIN posted...2370286...was a car on Ebay Nov '10 needing some help. It was black (orig??) and was in Riverside, CA. I can only go by what the Seller state (VIN #), so I'm assuming it is the same car. Sorry the pics are small.
  16. For whatever reason, not many US '02s had the corduroy or velour seats. My Touring has the tan vinyl & corduroy material, but the driver seat corduroy wore out by 75k. I looked everywhere in Europe to find a replacement seat or material before bringing the car to the US, but to no avail. I did get some material from Timmer, but, unfortunately, it was way darker. I went and bought tan Recaros for the hell of it. My rear seats are still "like new-ish". So, look after the corduroy because it will be a bugger to replace.
  17. Not Austin, nor Tianjin (where I am). You gotta keep up Pip!
  18. To be honest, I have never checked it on my '76 cars. It works (or did do) on the Touring. It's noted on the Fuse list (#12) stuck on the hood of my '76 Siena. Maybe it's a "one fuse list suits all"?
  19. there is a red warning light? I've never seen coming that on, although i thought the car would only run on gas fumes at that moment. How early is early? 69? 70? 72? I think it's '73 and up. The red light is used for handbrake on, choke out, brake fluid level low and fuel level low. Although my Touring (Nov '73) UK market does not have the brake fluid level but the wires are there if I ever wanted to get the reservoir cap with the float and contacts. Fuse 12.
  20. I guess your fuel level warning (red light) is not working, or you have an early '02.
  21. Don't know about wheels/colour. Whatever you fancy. Why not paint the car a period correct BMW colour, ie, Bristol? Bristol grey looks (on my laptop) same as on the car you pictured.
  22. I honestly do not know Bill and I'm in China currently. I had all the seats out for the refurbishment back in '86/'87. I guess it was there then, but whether, after the 2 yrs it took, I remembered to refit it is anyone's guess. I'll try & remember to look when I get back.
  23. Bill, Rear Trg muffler is still available. I had to use my NOS spare recently when the 20 yr old one finally fell off! So I checked availability. I could get one (then) for around $135. part # 18 12 1 103 694. What rubber thingie????
  24. Funny. The paint just laying on the ground. Good picture for a "choose a caption" contest.
  25. According to Google, so it must be true. They are in Atlanta, GA 30341.
