  1. This one was on Ebay 5 years ago. It was in FL then, and said to be a non-runner that had sat since the early '90s. It had a proper centre console then.
  2. I still think the best BMW April 1st ad (back in the '80s I think) was the one involving a swappable steering/pedals for those in the UK that went on hols over to Europe. It was classic. BMW took a full page ad out in the Daily Telegraph (that's a big page!) and apparently got a deluge of interested buyers.
  3. Ok, got to ask. Why do call Chelsea....Chelsea Futbol Club? I realise they, in the past, they sided almost 11 italian (whatever) players, but it's an English club. Heavens forbid, someone calls Man utd a Futbol club.
  4. How well summed up. A truly great post. You sound young(ish) not that it matters, in fact it's good to see this. Back in the '70s, when I had my first '02, I rode in T-shirt, jeans and tennies and people thought I was either wierd or important. They were half right, I wasn't important! I just wish I could take my collection for a blast more often, but as I work in places too far afield, can't do it. I'll retire soon, then....watch out!
  5. By chance I came across this on Ebay Germany. They do a 16 or a 17 piece carpet set. The 17th piece appears to be the rear parcel shelf. May be worth an email (noted toward the bottom of the listing) as he delivers Worldwide. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Fusmatten-Autoteppich-fur-BMW-E24-Baujahr-1975-1989-17-teilig-/160848066111?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item25734ab63f http://www.ebay.de/itm/Fusmatten-Autoteppich-BMW-E24-Baujahr-1975-1989-16-teilig-/160848066163?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item25734ab673
  6. FWIW, here's pic of what BMW recommended back in day dependant on your climate (stock motor).
  7. Nice hometown. You'll find a wealth of information here; don't forget to use the search function (site search) top right. Let us know how you progress with your car.
  8. Greetings from/to the, I'm sure, best "02 forum. What's the VIN/Chassis number on your car, and where are you in RSA? I worked in Middelburg and Roodeport in my distant past.
  9. Looks like New Zealand. They have a few mountains there. And, another upside down centre grill.
  10. Think he may be out of luck. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1868275&highlight=carpet
  11. These spacers (two different sizes) were fitted to all '02s, Euro & USA. Also fitted to E3 & E9 cars I believe. The actual reason for them is still with the jury.
  12. Very interesting! The only one I see looking like that is part # 11 62 0 743 128. According to my "Blue" parts book it is for only RHD '02s, however, it appears to be for all Euro '02s.
  13. Ha! I live in TX and I have to find work in China. Funny old world. If you have daily driver, then I guess you need A/C, other than that any '02 will run around here no problem, and, take longer to rust.
  14. No details, accept one of the Auctions stated it had a rebuilt motor. It has gone from Germany to CA, to NC, and now to IL.
  15. Thanks Gilbert. The Touring has been side-lined by my 633 purchase. Like I really needed another car! Larry, Bert H. should know of someone in SAT for body/paint. His Chamonix tii is spectacular.
  16. If it's this one (pics) it has been on Ebay a few times; recently in May this year.
  17. FYI: 2761256 was for sale in the Roundel mag Mar 1987 by Dan Bower, Winterville, GA. In 2003, it was owned by the famous/infamous!!, Andy Stuckey in NC (at that time).
  18. Really CD!!! Did you actually read "any of the above"?
  19. +1 Maybe he'll mention that in the " more to come later".
  20. These things seem to get bent by looking at them. I have a stack and no two the same. They are currently like $20 new, so that's what I would do. Try Blunttech or your favourite supplier.
  21. FYI 4 x 108 (4.25") is not for the PCD for a 2002. A Mk2 Ford Escort (UK) and others I'm sure.
  22. I was going to suggest, as you have a "small" leak, a repair kit. However, it appears you have to take a mortgage for one of those now. Try Autohausaz. com for an ATE (OEM) Brake Master Cylinder, currently on sale at $168 and free shipping.
  23. 1550087 & 1550150 were both running 7 yrs ago in the UK. Don't know of an earlier one. As Nick said, try the UK Forum.
