  1. Bill, If/when?eventually I get to refurb the Touring, I have a 320i 5 spd (no dogleg fancy one) to go in. I have the decals that Keith K. did, but don't want to paste them on the dash. So I was thinking of a 5 spd gear shift knob. I guess i could paste the decal on the Tourings original shift knob I have???
  2. Hmmm! 23 41 1 666 170 is supposed to be the basic shift knob. It replaced the original 23 41 1 666 103. Does it really have a 5 spd icon on it? I need one of those. 25 11 1 203 074 is a leather & plastic one. There was a wood one with emblem 23 41 1 201 130 but that's gone by the wayside too.
  3. Did you take that pic with a box Brownie? he he.
  4. Appears the answer is no. The clip (near the mirror) for the 2002 part # 51 16 1 870 863 suits the 02/E12/E21/E26/E3 For the CS (E9) it is part # 51 16 7 766 079 and is only for the E9. No clue what the diffirence is. The sunvisor pivot part (near A pillar): for 2002 is part # 51 16 1 816 015 (left) & 016 (right) and suits the 02/E12/E3 It seems this part for the CS is only available with the sunvisor itself. Never checked to see if these parts are available or, like most, NLA. HTH
  5. Earlier sales efforts mentioned the car came from Japan also. If you look close on the rear panel you can see two vertical sets of 3 holes; these look like the holes to mount the license plate lights typically used on other Japanese Turbos. Maybe the car went from Sweden to Japan to USA? Also, when it was for sale on 2002AD website, it had CA tags. the pic is still there in their for sale page.

  7. From the September 1982 Roundel. According to the owner, this car went thru the certification process Apparently Mr. Bergen didn't keep the Turbo too long as it was for sale '86 to '88. I assume it did sell eventually.
  8. Almost! Yes, it is a real Turbo. And, over-riders for a squarelight....definate no-no. Edit: found one!
  9. I too have American Collectors for my Touring. However, having filled in the paperwork stating the car was garaged, I included 2 photos, and they refused. I had sent photos of the car under a carport, and they iterated it must be in a garage. So I sent two photos of the Touring in the garage.....you could just make out the car in the darkness! They agreed to insure the car.
  10. As said, shipping might kill the good price. I check this Site for prices: http://www.trademotion.com/parts/index.cfm?make=BMW&year=&searchText=63211351561&action=oePartSearch&siteid=214672 They have:- Trg rear Lens right 63 21 1 351 561 for $86.77 Trg rear Lens left 63 21 1 351 562 for $81.37 Plus shipping. Why one is cheaper than the other escapes me.
  11. +1 Translation of junk.....something that becomes useful right after it is thrown away.
  12. As far as know, it supports the Hood bar and the driver side washer nozzle (on Tourings). I don't see it as a structural member. On an E24 (maybe other later BMWs?), it doesn't support the Hood Bar, and it is removable.
  13. Greetings. Where in TX are you? There's a thriving '02 community in the DFW area, but it gets a little spotty by the time you get down to the San Antonio area (where I am). Good luck with the car.
  14. Added this '83 633CSi to my collection in May. After 40 years of '02 Ownership I have a clue on '02 part numbers for the various models. I now realise I am clue-less on E24s.
  15. Does look like an odd fitting on your caliper. I guess you could get the female ended hose, then a male to male adaptor to re-use that fitting. OR, take your old hose to an Aeroquip stockist & see if they can make one (two) up. I'm here to help you!!
  16. Ray, I think the orig part # for the single line was 34 32 1 116 515 (according to the parts book). Now NLA. However, part # 34 32 1 159 882 appears now to be the single line hose to suit both the real early car with the remote type booster/servo and the later style servo. Having said this, the diagrams appear to show a hose with two female ends for both the above part #s.
  17. Side fenders? Maybe you mean the Sill/Rocker panel moulding. Fits below the door and runs from front wheel (wing/fender) to rear wheel. They are still available I believe. Part # 51 13 1 803 359 and 51 13 1 803 360 (for driver & pass sides).
  18. Top right of this page is Site Search. This is what it yields. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/content/view/60/61?cx=partner-pub-2478521489155222%3Aeolm2n-2i1w&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=temp+gauge+bouncing&sa=Search&siteurl=www.bmw2002faq.com%2Fcontent%2Fview%2F60%2F61%2F&ref=www.bmw2002faq.com%2F&ss=5375j1903257j19
  19. It was for sale back in May; here and on Craigslist. I guess it's worth whatever you paid, assuming you bought it then and you're not the same Owner.
