  1. It was for sale back in May; here and on Craigslist. I guess it's worth whatever you paid, assuming you bought it then and you're not the same Owner.
  2. Here's a starting point from the '02 FAQ's page. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/content/view/20/32/
  3. I bought used kitchen cabinets for a song after I finished building my garage & workshop. Check Craigslist....you may find a bargain.
  4. Quite popular in the UK back in the day, although I'll never know why. My '73 Taiga '02 had a vinyl roof; actually a nice contrast to the Taiga green. The pic shows its demise in Mons, Belgium in '78 or '79 (can't remember).
  5. Thanks Larry. I'll give it a try next time I'm home. I have a few that need fixing.
  6. How did you get the two parts seperated without beggaring up the switch?
  7. Waaaay off topic, but this is my scene.
  8. Not sure what you consider "horribly expensive", but you can get a spray can from Paint Scratch for around $25 + shipping. I believe Tower Paint is also an option. http://www.paintscratch.com/cgi-bin/makepaint2.cgi
  9. Congratulations. I saw the Craigslist ad, and sat on my hands so I wouldn't call the Seller. Real pleased it turned out good as i know you've been looking for an '02 for a while. Did you take it to Bert's for the PPI? I was there earlier yesterday. Email me the VIN and I'll add you (& the car) to my list. lescartwright at juno.com
  10. Congratulations John. That will be a great drive back to Willoughby; can't wait to hear about it. Looks like a dark Sahara or non-metallic Ceylon. he he. Have a safe trip.
  11. Maybe the trickyest part of the UK driving test. Use of the well maintained handbrake is the trick.
  12. he he. There was no getting up for a pee while that race was on, that's for sure. I'll assume my position in the Hotel bar again for this sunday's race.
  13. Ask him/her/them what colour. If it's green, or black & white, or blue, or brown......it could be one of mine. Don't think Berts Chamonix gets out too much.
  14. Carefully cut through (split it) end to end with a Dremel/cutting wheel. No clue about a new crimp though.
  15. Watched it earlier this evening here (China!). Spectacular.
  16. Shame. I remember him joining our "session" out the back of the Hotel at V@V 2009.
  17. FYI When it was for sale last year, it was stated as having 145k mileage, and the motor was rebuilt at 120k.
  18. Those of you that were around in the '60s/'70s may remember Booker T & the MGs. Dunn was the bass player; also he, with Steve Cropper backed many Stax artists in the day. He appeared in the classic Blues Brothers film. Sad, but inevitable http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_%22Duck%22_Dunn
  19. Care to share the VIN with us?
  20. That '69 1600-2 is actually an April '71 1602 if the stated VIN is correct.
  21. You might want to check the underside of the roof. The pics show what I found on one of my parts car. The rust started right behind the sunroof opening and headed off to the two rear corners of the roof. The outside didn't look bad!
  22. Here's a couple of pics that may help. That cardboard underdash piece tends to get flattened out when in storage for a while, so the holes may appear to be too far apart.
