    Sad Day for Otis

Johnny Otis was reportedly the un-named singer on Etta James' "Roll With me Henry".

    Sad Day for Otis

Sad indeed, but he did have a good innings, unlike a lot of artists of the era. One of the relatively unknown long forgotten greats of the 50s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Otis
  3. Da Beater will stay trimless. I would have to have it painted nice if I put trim on. I will put the one missing stainless rocker trim back on one day though. Not sure how the holes were treated; the previous Owner (Rob Delk) is responsible for that.
  4. May thru' Aug '11 it was for sale at Park Place Ltd, Bellevue, WA. They wanted $16,950.
  5. Just to be clear, you need a non-sunroof dome light (which is what you have now). Your car would have been fitted with the Webasto roof at the dealership, not at the BMW Munich factory.
  6. Two in San Antonio. Are we getting warm yet?
  7. This Touring has the matching tow bar cover, but a German plate. Hehe.
  8. An excellent and a thorough write-up. Going to save this for a rainy day (or two).
  9. Looks like the centre section for the 2002 Turbo. (item 9)
  10. Hmmm. When did BMW change the font on colour stickers from italic? I thought it was some time in '71. This would assume it was '69.
  11. Bill, I have a few pics of Tourings with these bubble blinkers, and they do seem to be tiis with the sport package. I believe, as Sam said, that they were part of the sport package, however, I guess anyone with a Touring (or any other '02 model) could special order them when the car was new, or fit them later.
  12. Bill, The BMW Blue parts book shows part #s 63 13 1 354 557 & 558 only for the Touring tii. Max's site shows they are still available. I am only assuming it was part of the "sport paket". The interior shot of the car I posted does have the "sp" interior like the one in the brochure. I like the idea of having them for the better visibilty, and they are Touring specific (the Euro flat ones are not real visible from head on).
  13. 2374061 is a '76 model manufactured Oct/Nov '75. I believe the registry uses the manufacture date.
  14. Yeah I have been kind of keeping my eyes out for some small bumpers, IE has the fiberglass ones but can't chrome those. Here you go. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-2002-68-76-Ti-Tii-Turbo-NOS-Front-bumper-3-pieces-Euro-style-/180789960882?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2a17ebe0b2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-2002-68-76-Ti-Tii-Turbo-NOS-rear-bumper-3-pieces-Euro-style-/180787262793?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2a17c2b549
  15. True, he did say Navy. I guess getting side-tracked with bubble blinkers I lost the plot Esty.
  16. i don't believe dark blue was ever used originally for the moulded carpet...i'd like to see a pic of his carpet Esty, As far as I know the carpet in my car was the orig one-piece. The car was orig Fjord. If you look where the console had covered it, the carpet is (probably) close to the original colour. It was certainly a darker shade of blue. The car had sat 3 or 4 yrs, I believe, before I saved it, so it was pretty faded and dirty everywhere else.
  17. I don't know the difference, other than I assume 1 bulb instead of 2. I'm interested as there is no doubt the bubble type are way more visible than the regular Euro flat blinkers.
  18. Yes, I really need to finish this car. I redid all suspension components, put in the new carpet and then parked the car. I need to thin the herd as I keep jumping from one car to the other, and none of them get finished. Bill, check out part #s 63 13 1 354 557 and 558. The orig Euro bubble front blinkers for the Touring tii only (according to the parts book). Probably part of the "sport paket". They are still available apparently.
  19. Here you go. The grey lightens up the interior compared to the original dark blue one. When I get around to it, I may redo the seats and use a grey cloth insert to replace the light blue.
  20. My '76 "Blue" has a one-piece dark blue carpet. I replaced it with an Esty grey carpet. A world of difference.
  21. 51115670106 51115670107 price is about 14.00 bucks each. these are the European front bumper brackets similar to the 72's but with a twist. Oops. I looked at the USA 73tii brackets by mistake. Yep, $14 each at getBMWparts. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=searchCatalogOEM&siteid=214672&makeid1=3
