  1. I too think you could straighten yours. You can still buy the '72 type new, but now at a staggering $50 each. 2 years ago I bought a new pair and they were around $22 each.
  2. 10 yrs ago I just had the Touring, then they began multiplying. It's ok, I'm down to 5 now.
  3. 3 Gasket, part # 63 12 8 650 109 (same for both sides) 4 Spacer Ring left, part # 63 12 8 650 105 4 Spacer Ring right, part # 63 12 8 650 106
  4. The parts book shows a left and a right headlamp assy, with different part #s. What part is different I do not know.
  5. Interesting. A few Companies in the UK made serious coin redoing the heads on M10 Motors when the UK switched to unleaded. I brought my '74 Touring (orig head) over in 2000 and have used (off/on) a lead substitute. AFAIK with no detrimental effects.
  6. Here's a pic ot the back of the speedo for you.
  7. As Andrew said, both sides are lit. The parts book calls for 2 bulbs parts # 62 14 9 557 328
  8. FYI: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/t,326649/highlight,/ The car was owned by another Faqer - "whale", San Diego.
  9. Yep! Was on Ebay 2 years ago and was stated as being in Aachen. Both auctions have the same pics, so I guess the same Sellers (only_topless & d_csl) or very closely partnered.
  10. Part # 51 1 25 470 060 $17~$20 each new depending on your favorite supplier.
  11. I may have solved the issue, I took the mounting plate off the back of the speedo and there was a screw about to fall out. It is a screw that holds the speedo mechamism in place. If was just flopping around when I took the back off. Lets see if this fixes it...thanks for the responses If not ok, you can also send to Rick Borth, Austin (a little nearer). www.speedometer.com He repaired my Touring speedo for me a few years ago.
  12. The figures in your book are correct. They include cars manufactured in a calendar year at the factory which also includes the Euro models, not just the US cars.
  13. Also, some crackers. Aptly named when you opened them up. Not what they looked like on the packet.
  14. Got to love the Chinglish. Just prior to the '08 Olympics, near out Hotel they bulldozed some buildings and made a little park. The warning signs for the grass were great.
  15. They were the optional alloy wheel for the E3, E12, E23 & E28. The 13" version for the E21 fits the '02 although the offset is not correct.
  16. That's brilliant! Sad thing is, someone might actually believe it.
  17. 15 bids from 10 Bidders.........amazing! Reserve not met at $3k.........amazing!
  18. It was on Ebay Mar '08. Seller wanted high $$$.
  19. Yes, they have the baby grand piano top. Part # 11 25 1 261 881. Thanks for the replies.
  20. Can Euro(?) tii pistons (42,1 + 6,8 dome height) be used with an E12 non-tii Head? The standard piston for this head is 42,1 + 4,5 dome).
  21. Yes, I've been looking at that one. Wonder where the price will go in the last nano seconds of the auction? There was another real nice '74 Bav on Ebay in Reno. The Seller keeps ending the auction early though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=270868038079&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  22. It's been on/off Ebay for 18 months now. Not sure how it's the 1462nd Turbo with a VIN of 4291365.
  23. Maybe 'cos I'm British & live in TX, I find his dancing (2 step?) highly amusing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QTTDCe5_FA
