    THoughts?

Not to mention the speedo belongs in a '74-'76 car (cross-hairs).
  2. It's Man Utd v Chelsea. The home team is always first over there. Fingers crossed for Utd.
  3. 1562160/1552160 is registered in the 2002 Registry. Enterered by matts1602 (somewhere in CA) and states that the car is undergoing a full resto. http://www.bmw2002registry.com/
  4. Could you please post a date, location, and maybe I can make it up there.
  5. That's a shame. It was real good Family affair. Never envied Kathy-Buddy for organising the event, it surely took some time. I would love to have helped, but i'm always away (usually out of the Country). I favoured the idea of "Bimmers in the Breweries". There's a few microbreweries around Austin/Hill Country, and the event name wouldn't (hopefully) upset our friends on the east coast. I'll be home end of the week (in MA this week) and if I can spec any info out let me know. I may attend the BMWCCA Red Neck event this coming Saturday.
  6. Looks like i'll be going to China for the next contract Oct/Nov. Wanna put in an order? hehe.
  7. In case your talking about the rear side window removal, this thread might be helpful. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,287506/highlight,remove+window+cotter+pin/ Searching via the Site Search is more forgiving, I gave up with the Forum Search a long time ago.
  8. Yes, they are good. A few years back, I ordered (by phone) a front nose panel for my Touring on a Monday, and Friday it was sitting on my front deck.
  9. This site is aimed at Mini wheels, but there may well be one or two 13" wheels in here you do not have. ie Cosmic Mk1s http://www.wheeldictionary.net/
  10. I know that tow truck feeling. In 25 yrs of ownership the Touring finally did it. damn distributor. I'm not wearing that T-Shirt again!
  11. There's a small hole in the back of the round handle; tricky to find at best. Use an allen key (for example) or bent rod; insert through the hole and pop the front insert out to reveal the screw.
  12. Les it was put on by BMWCCA I believe. I went last year and loved it. tis year it is called the Redneck Wine Tour on 17 Sept or something like that. I will be with the wife in Dominican Republic during that time Yes, I know about that one, I was thinking of Kathy-Buddy's event.
  13. NE 1 now if there's going to be a 3rd annual Vineyard event? I'll be home for part of October.
  14. 1537 Model 71 RHD 2000 Tourings 339 Model 73 RHD 2002 Tourings. I have one of the Model 73s
  15. Now why am I at 3200 rpm at the same speed? Because he has a 4:11 differential and you have a different one. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/content/view/56/32/
  16. You may have a long wait. Only 989 2000A Tourings were manufactured. Show us a pic of yours.
  17. Enter part # 36111107915 for a pretty good deal (if you want new). http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=searchCatalogOEM&siteid=214672&makeid1=3 Or, try the Dealership with your BMWCC discount and save on shipping cost.
  18. Same as my '74 Touring. In round numbers 3000rpm = 60mph, 3500 = 70mph, 4000 = 80mph. I think I have a 3:64 diff. The so-called hi rpms don't bother me. It really smooths out between 3500-4000rpm.
  19. The car was built to go flat out on the autobahn for hours on end and you're worried about doing 70mph for a couple of hours. Hmmm.
  20. This one gets around, but, without actually going anywhere. It was for sale May '09 for £40,000 (yes GB£), the classiccarsforsale.co.uk ad uses the same pictures from 2009, so I suspect it is the same Owner. It was for sale at Munich Legends, Sussex, in July this year, but I guess it was on consignment. I guess it may now sell for the noted £29,995.
  21. If you take the driving test in the UK, you have to do option #2 and also put the handbrake on, or you will probably fail the test. Don't know about the US as I only had to do the screen questions to get my US licence.
  22. Thanks, I can add that to my list. Don't have any prior info on that car. I agree, it's a Jan '71 car, so it should not have the "model 71" bumpers and side mouldings.
  23. He sold a 76 (Red with Black roof) on Ebay last month. Wonder how long he has had this one? What is the VIN?
  24. 2002AD often advertise cars (on consignment?) for the Owners. Several of the Turbos on 2002AD over the past few years have actually been in Japan. That '74 Alpina is in the UK.
