Actually, I like the idea of the Stop resting on the top edge of the angle bracket. The BMW Repair Manual almost, sorta kinda, suggests that. One of those grey areas.
What's wrong with this picture????
Above Seller pays $10,500, + whatever, on BAT in September. Ships it to ME and now sells it at a loss.

That's not a 2002 grill.
Looks similar to one I have; I made a similar mistake years ago.
Might be for a later E3 Bavaria. If you find out let me know.
Now the more I look at it.................I wonder
for some reason, it still looks like a project car to me. $40k.......really!
no bumpers, no waist trim (holes are there), seats needing reupolstery, ill fitted "new" carpet, well cracked dash, missing motor room side seals, etc. Hmmm...........
Pinch welt goes up the A pillar across and over the B pillar and continues over the rear side window. A piece of the welt is cut out to allow it to go over the B pillar pinch welt and vinyl trim. So the B pillar welt will be a short piece around a metre or so long.
HTH
I also had the same ctr cap problem fitting 100+ wheels on my Touring a while back. I bought a pair of 3mm 4x100 wheel spacers for $15 to fix the problem.
A pic would be nice, but it sounds like an Owner update. Assume we're talking front bumper. I have never seen any additional 'factory' holes in the uniquely bent front bumper support bars.
That list thing does not belong, the way it is, in the 2002faq forum. JMO but i'm sticking to it.
'02 Owners come here thinking this is the place, so it must be true.
VIN would be between 3590001 & 3590763. As the last one(s) were made Dec '75, this one could easily have a 1st registered in 1976.
Unfortuntely I cannot make out the VIN in the pic.
I don't know Tommy. On the 1000km page I see a normal 2 and a normal (Euro) 7.
The 7500km page seems to show 33, thus I assumed 22. For sure it's an odd wat to write 77 even for European number writing.
I'm sure if Oldenzaal say it's a 40k km car, then it is 🤨, especially as Oldenzaal has 'stamped' the 45k km slot.
FWIW
2625491 was the last pre 71 built in 1970
2634875 was the last pre 71 built in 1971 (late March?)
In theory, both the above cars should have had 6 fuses, however, it is likely that 2634875 was one of the first cars with 12 fuses.
I guess having a 6 fuse harness to a 12 fuse box gives you extra room for spare fuses🤔
I guess, me being me, wonder about the 1st service 7500kms being 1 Mar 2022 (i'm assuming those 2s are 2s) and that FINAUTO concesionnaires is still in business since 1974 or earlier.
Were there any there? There were front, middle, rear, along the top edge of the rocker panel in the parts manual that I know of.
Part nos 51 72 6 440 147 (FRONT), 148 (MIDDLE), 149 (REAR) or buy by the meter 51 11 1 807 884
