  1. Le, Great, I appreciate it. Many thanks. Here's some light reading for you; Bill's & Scott's Touring restorations. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/t,314747/view,next/sid,cf485aa105e4d8973e665befee101baf/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,277829/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,274592/
  2. This Bosch battery was bought/installed in the Touring (1998?) prior to the car being shipped to the US in 2000. It was still going strong in 2009 when I relegated it to one of my project cars. It's still being used.
  3. Hey Rob, Sorry for the late post. Internet has been out where I am in India since Saturday. Not unusual, just annoying. Anyway, I still have the Polaris door from you and a Sahara door, but not sure if they are in a condition you would want. Can't remember what the Polaris door is like but the Sahara one has a goodly amount of surface rust and some on the seams. I see 2002AD trying to get back to you, so hopefully you'll be ok.
  4. In the UK it's been sorta kinda illegal for a long time. Called obstructing the police in their duties. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1343959/Driver-flashed-headlights-warn-motorists-speed-trap-fined.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headlight_flashing
  5. Nothing against W & N and other favoured suppliers, but as it's glass I would check your local dealer. No shipping charges and your sure it's crack free when you pick it up. If you're a BMW CC member you could get 10 to 15% off too.
  6. It was supposedly sold on Ebay Feb '10 for $15,900. It was stated as a disassembled project car. The motor was out. It appeared again on Ebay Mar-Apr '10 and was supposedly being restored and the Seller wanted $50k when the resto was finished. I guess not! The car certainly seems to have been ridden and put up wet, even if has only 65k on it.
  7. A tad different from their M2 concept 5 years ago.
  8. For what they are, they are not that expensive new. Around $50 each. Of course that doesn't include the seals.
  9. Does look better lower. However, now the 4 bolts are taking the weight more so than the gutter.
  10. Not scientific by any means.....just top 3 colours from my "list" of cars. Touring: Inka, Chamonix, Verona. Cabrio: Chamonix, Granada, Polaris. Targa - early Golf, Inka, Polaris. Targa - late Golf, Inka, Fjord. HTH
  11. Amazing! Takes me that long to get the centre console out of the way.
  12. What's the condition of the underdash panels? Maybe useful for my Touring. Let me know please.
  13. Classicpro, aka House of Luxuries......has a little history. Chico Joseph knows this Baur well. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/p,858678/highlight,/#858678
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/KYOSHO-1-18-BMW-2002-Tii-DIECAST-MODEL-CAR-TAIGA-GREEN-/220828917790?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item336a6de01e Now, can you find me a Jadegrün '74 Touring?
  15. I'm told that bubble type blinkers came with the "Sport Paket" offered on the Touring back in the day. Apart from having 2 bulbs, not sure how they differed from the US type. I'm considering fitting them to my Touring, because on a recent roadtrip I was following my Wife and she said she could not see my blinkers working at all.
  16. Agreed they look way better, but, visiblity of the blinking light is not too clever. The US ones do have that advantage.
  17. Decent score. Did that price incl postage? I used to get a many things from the UK, but the postage increase over the last few years means you have to watch out. I got a couple of RHD passenger arm rests (for my US cars) recently for cheap, but the cost doubled with postage.
  18. Interesting. Not a Baur job, but could be a Lumma conversion. Has all the details of a Euro car; maybe the owner added the chrome trim if it is/was a 1502. It's certainly been in the wars. Edit: have it on my list (info from the 2002 Registry in 2005) VIN 4197640 - 1976 1502 Lumma conversion
  19. Yes, it's item 3 in my post above (black painted cardboard). It extends from the centre console to the small panel (item 2).
  20. The one in my Touring does that too. It's real annoying once it catches your eye.
  21. The underdash panel (item 3) that fits up under the steering column is 51 45 1 826 393, probably long NLA. Max's site states CALL.
  22. Ah, Belgium. I worked many times in Belgium in the '70/'80s, mainly at an Aluminium Plant in Mechelen, and they had a smaller Plant just west of Antwerp (Burcht). Near this one was a junkyard that specialised in BMWs. It was full of '02s, NKs, E3, and a few E9s. I brought many parts from there back to the UK. My '73 Taiga was totalled in Mons, so I'm not partial to the southern part of the Country. Also liked that I could go to pretty much any bar and order a beefsteak & chips and have a steak better than I've had at any fancy restaurant in the UK or US for that matter. Would love the opportunity to revisit but my work has shifted to Asia over the years.
  23. What! You wait 'til I go back to India, then you fly in.
