  1. The Chinese built the new Beijing airport, a few years back, quicker than it took the UK to get planning permission to add a new terminal at Heathrow!!!
  2. Euro '02s had them too, and the E3 & E9 models. There were two thicknesses, 20 & 12mm. I think the 20mm were just for the US cars. Part nos: 31 33 1 106 059 31 33 1 113 721 No, all us 2002's had em on top of the strut and under the body. Many people take them off and put them on top like this to get the proper ride height and take up the extra length of strut mount bolts. John Thanks John, so did i get that right, US 2002's had those to give them a higher ride height? Now that you mention it, i *did* see some 2002 with real long strut mount bolts standing out.
  3. Hey Chris, Try 2761758. As I said on the TX board, 2761785 is for sale in Houston currently.
  4. I believe the 5.5" Turbo style alloys were optional for the E21 with ET18 offset.
  5. It was sold Apr '05 by Paul Schuster who was the selling Agent for Beyond2, Burlingame, CA. Then on Ebay May this year. Sorry, have no earlier info.
  6. I have the Hi/Lo tone Fiamm pair (510/410) and they are loud. Much better than the single horn type.
  7. Yep, same one. It has been for sale for 2 years that I know of.
  8. Sorry, wasn't getting at you. When I saw 2002AD I wondered about the pricing. There are a few Sellers around (Ebay in particular) that have pricing way above the Dealership MSRP. I couldn't see some unsuspecting 02er paying double the going price. It was sarcasm Thats why I said "poopin" They are surprisingly cheap on some sites to my surprise. I'm not sure about those sites, but my rockers were 9lbs shipped from Japan (From Maximillian)
  9. Be careful of the pricing by some CA folks. Check part nos at your favourite supplier: 51 13 1 803 359 51 13 1 803 360 Surprisingly cheap!
  10. Congratulations. 25 years with my Touring, and almost 40 years with '02s. The newest car that I have owned (not counting the Wife's) was a '78 525.
  11. Walloth & Nesch have them for 40.34 Euro each; that's around $58 each, but shipping may kill the deal. I got a pair when they were on offer from W & N a couple of years ago, I think it came to around $125 with shipping then. If you are a BMWNA Car Club member, then your local dealership with the member discount may be the way to go. The dealership can get parts from Germany in a few days. I did try a while back to find some generic ones (Pep Boys, Autozone) but failed. That Touring hatch is real heavy.

  13. 1570706 - 1572400 USA 1600-2 manufactured in 1970 1670883 - 1679261 USA 2002 manufactured in 1970
  14. They were, I believe, standard on RHD tiis; for sure the "late" square tiis. However, for whatever reason my RHD Touring also came with one (special order???). They match a 3:64 rear (at least mine does). The later ones are more common than the earlier "no crosshair" ones. For my money $200 is OTT, but so are a lot of '02 parts these days. If you're serious, post a want ad here http://www.02forum.co.uk/ I got a couple of spares a few years back on Ebay UK for like £25 each, but then shipping from the UK doubled that. HTH
  15. From the info I have: VIN 2764232. Originally Green, now Metallic Topaz (E21 colour). Lived in TN/KY in the '90s. Trunk appears to be Sienabraun - rear end shunt??? Now lives in Vero Beach, FL and was on Ebay this past May.
  16. Yep, they are for a RHD car, or, a female driver! There were a lot of RHD sunvisors on Ebay a few years ago, although they were not advertised as such; I snatched up a pair for my Touring.
  17. The forum's ok, actually it's great. We get the occasional unregistered poster taking pot shots now and again, but it passes.
  18. So they are...Cosmic Mk1s. I have a set waiting to go on the Touring.
  19. My favourite saying where I am currently working....India!
  20. Should have been more than the latch holding the window in. Two (?) pins I think at the hinged end.
  21. Like you I haven't seen my original one in years, but it looks like I remember. I also remember it fitted a whole lot better than the wooden one I have now. Maybe I need to take a step back to originality.
  22. Correct me i'm wrong, but doesn't the gearbox slope slightly down hill toward the centre bearing? If so, and the 5-speed box is longer, then the mounts would need to be a tad lower. Maybe the 80mm measurement in the BMW Blue Book takes this into consideration.
  23. John W. in Williamsburg VA was the previous owner and sold it at a modest $3,000 (or close to that number) to a "poor college student" who gave it a quick spray job and has been trying to flip it for 14,000 but has recently started coming down on price. It's not a bad car, just a bad seller in every respect and has it at too high of a price. OK maybe harsh. In my opinion no increase in value. All that poor work is alot of undoing. Would be better if the car was never touched by current owner. Sold for $3500 in Jan '11 to this guy. Feb (before the paint was dry) he had it "buy it now" of $14,995. From what I can see he has sprayed it orange and put back the electrical tape the PO had on; although it wasn't there for the first month or so. Agreed, he should never have messed with it.
