  1. Quite a few in Europe. My Nov '73 build Touring only came with a single barrel carb. Euro Autos had the two-barrel carb I think.
  2. I wish John. The work is pretty much all in India & China these days. The part of Siemens I work for now does have equipment in Cleveland, so I guess there's hope. It would be nice to work anywhere in the US for a change.
  3. Did you have to open the windows Ray? It's June, are you still in China? I just got an extension (order!) to stay in India until end of Sept. Home in July for 2 weeks though.
  4. To be honest, not real sure. I'm told it's the original/old type. Even in high heat TX I never really bothered running it. My Wife said it worked real good (cool) though.
  5. I remember Parma well. Gaelic Imports had/have the best Cornish Pasties & Sausage Rolls in the US. Then wash them down in the Tradesman or Parma Tavern. And now there's BMW bits there too!
  6. Looks like I have their UD-120 Unit. http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/air-conditioning/ud-120-under-dash-evaporator-unit-chrome-face-87.php I inherited this with the car, but, as you can see, the width dictates you modify the glovebox which I also did not do, but it's quite a neat job; just needs straightening & the loose screws tightening. It also worked pretty well until it ran out of freon. I'll re-charge it one day.
  7. Bit of an understatement, or am I totally out of touch? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170653566367&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  8. I'm sure that everyone on this forum just can't wait to help you. What a Richard Cranium. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,359071/ Shame if he gets ostracized.
  9. for the '74 & up models, BMW VINs had 2002/2002tii on the plate. It catered for both models. Yours in a '75 carburetted model (not a tii). Unfortunately, I suspect 2762827 may well be RIP, as I would assume an Owner would want to keep a tii motor with the car, but, you never know. Seems the car may have found its way to Texas at some point.
  10. $12,800 in Nov '09 $11,800 in Oct '10 $9825 now. It's getting there slowly.
  11. If I remember correctly, E21 Turbines have an et-13 offset. I ran them for 20 years on my Touring with 185/70 x 13 tyres and no problems, and now on Da Beater, also with no problems and it's lowered a tad too.
  12. None of the BAT "experts" made a comment on the VIN Harry. This Targa may just turn out to rarer than hen's teeth.
  13. I've always been under the impression that a police car can only go over the speed limit if the driver is on a "call" with lights a blazing. I'm realising in my part of Texas that's not the case. The quickest way to get anywhere is follow a police car. So I do.
  14. It's doing great Rob. Made it to the Mid-America & back (which is more than the Touring did) in April. I've put a new carpet set in and a cheap ($30) strut bar in front, so there's something shiny under the hood, and the Recaros. Did put another 5 spd in, but only half the noise went. I guess the diff will get changed one day, then maybe the noise will disappear altogether. It's been real reliable. Hope saying this doesn't put the mockers on it now.
  15. FYI. A lot of US '76s came from the factory with no VIN plate. Like my Sahara parts car. However, the VIN was stamped onto the passenger inner fender up near the windshield.
  16. Great price , if it's a full rebuild. The rebuild kits from BMW (NLA) were pushing $200 many years ago. Let us know how you get on.
  17. If you have the "remote" servo then, sit down. Jaymic (UK) has remanufactured ones. My Touring (RHD) has two of these buggers and I just got a quote for a little over $900, incl shipping, for a pair. I do not know of anywhere over here (USA) that rebuilds them. You may want to consider switching to the later style servo/booster. Unfortunately, my RHD car has no alternative that I know of.
  18. I have to be careful what I get. I bought a couple recently and put one on at this year's Mid America event. See what happened to the Touring!
  19. Why are reality shows called reality? What few I have had the misfortune to see appear to be choreagraphed (sp) to the nth degree, and far removed from "real" life.
  20. Thanks. I need to write all these abbrs down.
  21. What's WOT? I'm not learned with all these abbreviations.
  22. Hey Rob, I too will be home (from India) mid July. If you get down my way let me know.
  23. Just happened to be looking through Jaymic's w/site and noticed they have just got in stainless wipers arms for Touring models (little bit longer than the saloon wiper arm). If anyone is interested, here's the link, and only £16! No clue how much shipping would be though. http://www.jaymic.com/shop/parts_02_products.asp?grp=02CR&page=20
