  1. It looks a little more worn than 23k considering it, supposedly, has been in storage most of its life. Interesting car as the 2nd VIN plate indicates it was assembled at ETS Moorkens, kontich, Belgium.
  2. The headlights on my 74 Touring came off a 71 Touring I had as a parts car way back when. I had to paint the trim rings black to match the 74 grills. I’ve been wrong before, I could be wrong again.
  3. Aaron, I think all the Euro headlights/buckets had trim rings, maybe later were black to match the grills. The rings, I believe, stop the lens from popping out if you hit a bump!
  4. Sorry to hear that Andrew. Is the 2nd Bidder interested maybe? I think Ebay should go back to its roots and show the Bidders identities.
  5. Amazing, all these replies and no one, knowing it is a German car, said “Guten Tite“.
  6. If you are referring to my Beater; I have no clue as I inherited it with the car. It looks like it should fit a slightly narrower car, or maybe my fibreglass fenders are a little too wide?
  7. I ought to do something like that with mine. I bought this (ski rack) in Germany in the 70s. I have hauled all sorts of things on it in the past 30 odd years.
  8. Here Les, I had to give that one a quick once over.. now you can see it a bit better. Hope you don't mind. No problems. It was taken early morning (7am?) before all the bikers got there. I like it dark, makes the cars look better, hehe. That’s also why I missed half the Tejas flag!!
  9. This should help, assuming this is the one you are referring to. http://www.hoekstraltd.com/details.php?id=137 The Owner tried for 2 years to sell it at $8000-$9000, before this outfit got it.
  10. I guess what you meant to say was.......as well as the Touring
  11. Good point Paul. I know I’m way overdue. Apart from the wealth of knowledge here, it gives me endless entertainment wile I am in a Country with no entertainment.
  12. No don’t have the Ebay ad. I had the pics until my ext hd died.
  13. Has been confirmed a Euro model. It is in Laredo. Some odd bidding to jump it $2k.
  14. I have a new one somewhere in my stash, unfortunately I am out of the Country for some time. You might want to try Jaymic UK - they were making replica bottles (minus the VDO logo) a while back so they should have caps.
  15. I could be wrong here (I have been known to be wrong before!). I think the seal basically holds the glass in. You should be able to push the glass back against the spring, remove the seal, then the glass will come out. Something like that. If you need new seals after, I hope they fit better than the current mirror to door seal offered for a trap mirror............it’s not even close.
  16. Also, can depend on your email. I have Juno, and I get no answer from them using this email. I guess Juno is a bad word somewhere in the World, and my email goes to their junkmail? FWIW 2361959 was a repainted (Mintgrün) shell only, on Ebay in 2006.
  17. It was a converted RHD car John!? hehe
  18. Don’t know about the metal part (probably long NLA) but the headliner should be the same as the manual sunroof car........I would think. That is available from various sources including BMW.
  19. It’s twice the price of the standard 3 connection OEM tank
  20. well, the lady i talked to over the phone insisted that they typically don't sell "whole" cars that are sitting out in the their yard... I don’t typically work in India...........but we all have our price!
  21. Hi John, Doubtful for the Vintage. Boy! what a long drive. Due back from sunny India mid April, so I can (hopefully) make Mid-America, then supposedly China, but not sure exactly when (May/June?). Fly down to Eureka Springs John, seeing as you still have the plane. We can sample the local brews. I guess I should apologise for commandeering the original post. Nice car!
