  1. very original and unmolested Webasto (& similar) roofs were not factory fitted that I know of, maybe dealer fitted. They were not two-tone either out of the factory. Car looks like it belongs to one of Esty's long lost relatives. hehe.
  2. That was (reportedly) a running car, stripped ready for paint, 7 years ago. Shame it was never finished and just left to rot.
  3. That car has tii mtr 2761188. It was, supposedly, running 7 years ago.
  4. I'll assume, as you have no key, the steering wheel lock is on/locked. If you fit a new ignition cyl, you can then turn the key in that, and free the wheel lock.
  5. I seem to remember reading somewhere, that the body kit was all custom made. Just can't remember/find where I read it.
  6. It's a moving target! To the best of my knowledge, the reversing light fuse is:- Pre '71 = #5 (6 fuse cars) '71-'73 = fuse #12 '74-'76 = fuse #6 Not sure exactly when it was updated, but my Blue Book Manual shows fuses for model '73 and up, and the page is dated 9/75.
  7. Bob, Oops. I gave the part # for the early fuse sticker. Part # 51 14 1 831 599 is noted for all cars (Euro & US) from late '73, including the Auto. Also NLA The pic shows the sticker that is the same as the one on my '76 Siena, which I believe is the original sticker.
  8. The car wa s on Ebay on/off from Feb to Sep last year, when it finally sold for $2300 (acc to Ebay). It was an unfinished project in GA. It was listed as Verona, but most of the pics looked like Orange (Inka). The pics are from last year's auction.
  9. Maximillian's Site advertises the trap mirror gasket (frame) as available for $12.32. Part # 51 16 1 807 748. Hope they fit better than the trap mirror to door seal.....which doesn't.
  10. According to the Blue parts book, the same fuse sticker was used on US 1602, 2002, 2002A & 2002tii. part # 51 14 1 816 803 long NLA
  11. Me too! Here's my Touring after having been creamed.
  12. Bill, Yes, the Blue car is a US '74-'76, naturally, earlier cars had differences. My tatty fuse & tyre pressure stickers are in their original place (hanging by a thread), and, although a Euro Touring, I believe the arrangement is the same for most US cars except the real early ones (the fuse sticker for sure).
  13. Let us know the year of your '02. As stated, placement, and text of some stickers (fuses for example) changed now and then.
  14. Remove the panels under the steering column/ignition switch. Look up under the swicth assembly and you should find a little white sticker with a number written on. It will start with a W then 4 numbers. This is the key number. There are a few places (BMW Dealership being one) where you can order a new key with that number. This is assuming, however, that it's the original ignition switch!!
  15. Yes, a real can of worms this. The "locale" pic gives the basics (thanks to whoever originally posted this). However, the Capacity-Tire Sticker is normally found above the Emission Sticker (passenger side near the windshield). The regular Tyre Sticker is found next to the Fuse sticker at the upper LH corner of the hood (like my peeling ones on my Touring). HTH
  16. Wrong spot completely. Should be over the booster as mentioned above. When they were on the passenger side, they were up the front not back near the windshield. Don't know why BMW moved the position anyway.
  17. I got 5! Coming from the other side of the pond, I'm quite pleased. All guesses of course.
  18. Looks decent. Needs to loose the rear over-riders. Square light cars look way better without them (IMO).
  19. Hey Skip, It keeps me out of trouble! With luck, Yvonne and I plan to join you all in Eureka. I've lost the plot of this thread now.
  20. FYI: 2763393 was for sale in the BMW Roundel magazine several times from '94 to '97 by an Owner in NY. It was stated to be Red with Black interior, sunroof and had been totally restored.
  21. FYI: The Haynes manual is compiled in the UK. A Spanner is what us Brits call a Wrench.
  22. That would be Bert, he is the shop owner and owns three 02's including a killer Tii Plus a few others out back. One of which I relieved him of. His Chamonix 72tii is something special for sure.
  23. Welcome to our madness. I'm in Elmendorf, 20 mile south of you......well, when I'm not in India. Post some pics of the '02 when you get time. I think I know who you are even though we haven't met, do you take your touring to Bert's? I was the one who sold the shop to Bert in 04 where he is located now in Tezel, good friend of mine! Yes, that would be me. So I have you to blame for sending Bert further away from me. I have to take a trunk full of spares and a pack lunch when I visit him now!

  25. Really?? You sure about that?
