  1. I'm not sure if the 4 brackets per side for the grills are the same, but if you can cut your 'early" centre section wide enough, you'll have at least two per side correct.
  2. I have a hard time believing someone would trade a 2002 for an '80s 7 series, but, well, you never know.
  3. He/she advertised it in the Feb Roundel for $14,900. Some price drop.
  4. The pic below is of my (then) 3.0csi that the PO had put a Webasto roof on. This was the start of a journey across to Austria in 1986 or 87. On the way back in Germany on the autobahn the roof decided to let go. It held on in the back so I didn't actually lose it. The one & only reason I'll never have another of those roofs.
  5. I hate DAFs. One ran in the back of my first Touring in Wimbourne (from where I come from). It was a tii Touring I had bought in Germany. There was nothing left of the DAF in front of the windscreen.
  6. Those "bottlecaps" were also 5 1/2 x 13 ET18 for the E21 series.
  7. Euro '02s did not have the vapour return tank up under the hat shelf. Like yours, it was routed from the filler tube down to the rear and out through a hole in the floor. I assume you have measured the tank to make sure it will fit; looks like at least one of the fixing holes is in a different position.
  8. Not that we know of. There was a period when the "early" nose panels were NLA so anyone who needed a new one could only get a "late" panel. You often see early '02s in Germany with "late" nose panels for this reason.
  9. This is the 3rd Turbo needing "work" in almost as many weeks.
  10. I'll see if I can go see this one. I won't be home until the middle of next month, but it will be on its 2nd relist by that time, as I can't see it selling at that price.
  11. John, There's a Pizza Hut here in town. I've been there once, that was enough! Hope Jen, Anna & yourself are all well. Cheers
  12. I left a note in my Touring when I refurbished it in '86. Not much use as I still own it. It needs doing again, so I'll get to see what I wrote.
  13. If it had been a BMW factory worker, it would have been Johan!
  14. If I remember correctly, VIN 2760018 (mo's72tii) was manufactured 20th Oct '71. If 2760051 (a later VIN) was manufactured 1st Sep '71 then there is another mystery. US tiis were manufactured from Aug '71.
  15. I'd give my right nut for snow. It's bloody murder here in India.
  16. Fuse 11 should have a green-white wire to the fuel pump and a brown earth wire from the pump. If you click on the pics you will get a larger view, or save them to your computor and enlarge them.
  17. If it is a sun roof car, then the loop hand hold fixes high up the B pillar. On my '76 parts car there was two holes down about 6" or so; the upper one was plugged, and the lower (2" or so) used for the seat belt. I would think the plugged one is an alternative seat belt fixing for those taller people. My pics are not the best, but you can see the seat belt hole and the plugged hole above. If you stare long enough at the other pic you can see the two holes on the B pillar and the marking way up high where the loop hand hold was. edit: click on pics to get larger version
  18. With the current exchange rate, Walloth & Nesch have front floor panels at $121 each and rears at $131. These prices include German VAT which is, I believe 19%........they will deduct this for overseas Buyers. Then you have the shipping cost to add. It's worth emailing W & N as they will quote you a price to your front door, and very quickly.
  19. You should get more for the one on the left as it has a RHD '02 on it. Hehe.
  20. Yes; in January and February. Did not meet its reserve.
  21. As I stated, it was on Ebay in Aug '04 (over 5 yrs ago). Ebay, like it or not, is probably up there when it comes to selling to a big audience. The fact that it is an early VIN will have pulling power to some people. Any roundie tii has that, and the earlier the better it seems. What it costs to put back to its former glory, is going to be a labour of love and not recuperable in the short term. I laud anyone wishing to take on a task as this may be, I just wish I had the cash to it to at least one of my '02s.
  22. Sorry, in those days I didn't keep that info. Where is it now? Not looking for it, just interested.
  23. No help to your question, but that car was on Ebay in Aug '04 and was in Stuart, FL. edit: it was White then too.
  24. The tach was optional (clock was standard) on the Euro-cars. The radio and A/C units were installed at the point-of-sale dealership. By the time the square taillight cars came along, the USA-spec cars all had tachometers (except possibly the automatics) as "mandatory options." Delia As far as I know, all the '02s in the UK, except Automatics, came with a tach standard. Of course, Britain is not Europe! All of the 8 '02s I have owned (before coming to the US) had tachs. Two of my previous 02s were bought in Germany.
