  1. Not sure what the "cult" book says, but tiis were made thru' July '75 (LHD) and Oct '75 (RHD). Good luck with the auction.
  2. Albeit 10 years ago, it cost be around $1000 to ship my Touring over RoRo (Southampton to Galveston). It would have been a lot more if in a container. With RoRo (roll on, roll off) it has to be driveable. As said, a car in the condition of this Touring would cost mucho $$$$ and not worth it.
  3. With only 1876 RHD Tourings manufactured, it amazes me that you can still find one for sale in the UK fairly often. This one, unfortunately, is destined for a better place.
  4. Hi Alexis, I understand a little more now. Thanks. I agree Ebay is not a patch on what it was a few years back. I guess I still look at Ebay as an auction house where I hope to find a bargain, but it is slim pickings now. Maybe I shouldn't tell you this, but with the current exch rate, W & N are selling these for $55 each (40.34 euro). I know......shipping from Germany! Have a great day, as mine, over here, is finishing.
  5. Perhaps "beware" was a bit OTT. Whilst I realise that $98 + shipping would be the same as your $110, well.....my point is, your $110 is a starting bid in an auction. If you wish to sell it for $110 & free shipping then why not do so, and not list it as an auction. check the link below and insert the part # for a price on a NEW part. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=26
  6. Got to love Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-BMW-2002-Touring-Gas-Pressurized-Compression-Spring_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3cab339f58QQitemZ260570324824QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories This part can be bought in a couple of places for $98. It's $113 on Max's Site. If the start off price was for two, then that would be different.
  7. This is a different car (the one last month was VIN 4290862). 4290910 was for sale Dec '08 for $38k and was in Savannah, GA. Looks like it's been ridden and put up wet. Looks to have more than the stated miles though, if you look at the interior. Maybe the odo has turned over twice?
  8. Depending on which "parts" source, they are called Base, Spacer or (per the BMW Parts Manual) Distance Piece. 51 11 5 670 106 and 51 11 5 670 107 are the front (left & right) 51 12 5 470 065 is for the rear. HTH
  9. +1 for the battery, +/- connections to it or negative/earth lead from the battery, if you have lost everything. Remove terminals, clean them up & the battery posts and retry. Put a little petroleom jelly on the posts when you reconnect to help stop future gunk build ups.
  10. Early Verona cars generally (maybe all?) came with a black interior and salt & pepper carpet. Pretty much all early cars came with a S & P carpet. I have a black carpet set (unknown source) in the Beater (orig Verona), tempered with charcoal foot mats. I think it looks ok. I have an Esty's grey carpet set in my dark metallic blue car. This also look good to me. Beware.......the black carpet will show every speck of dirt/dust, and piece of lint etc.
  11. If you're referring to the very early "remote" booster system, then to swap over to the later type would be recommended. The boosters have been NLA for decades and rebuild kits also NLA. W & N had some for sale a while back (rebuilt, I guess?) for something like $400. RHD cars have two of them, so my Touring is now running on borrowed time I think.
  12. Appears to have been Malaga originally; can be seen in engine bay. Untidy under the hood. Seats not original (colour does not match). Looks good until you open the trunk/hood/doors. Too high $$$ IMHO. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-2002-BMW-tii-1974-BMW-2002tii-DARK-BLUE-TAN-RUNS-DRIVES-GREAT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4a9f539452QQitemZ320500634706QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks
  13. Yours could be a Brother to my "Da Beater". It too started out Verona (still is on the inside). Rattle can Flat black with a sorta kinda shiny white roof. No one parks next to it at the supermarket!
  14. Hmmm! the Atlantik tii car sold for $13,000 on Ebay Jan '09. $42.5 would seem to be just a tad over the top! They've changed out the Recaros that were in there and the wheels (it had E30 bottlecaps).
  15. It was on Ebay last Sep/Oct and didn't make its reserve. It was in Edmonds, WA, then. Absence of stickers on fenders (except the colour sticker) leads me to think it may have been repainted. There were a few Türkis '74tiis, mainly the early ones in the '74 series (manuf 'late '73). Possibly BMW stopped that colour early '74?
  16. It has a "late" nose panel, hence the snorkel. It does appear to have the correct mounting brackets for the tii air filter/canister thingie on the driver side inner fender. Someone go look at it and check the VIN plate, and VIN stamping on the inner fender.
  17. Getting them in is the (relatively) easy part. Getting mine out was the deal. I then found the internal diameter, after I cleaned out the remains, left a lot to be desired. There were bumps inside, which didn't help the new bushings going in. If I have to replace anymore, I will take the expensive route next time, and get new control arms complete with the bushings fitted.
  18. Looks like it may have been Malaga originally (tell-tale spot on the trunk edge). Malaga matches the Brown interior better than Polaris or Fjord.
  19. Don't know if this pic helps. Don't have a tii, just a pic!
  20. Yes, and a good job I'm not in TX currently.
  21. so do i and i suspect most prefer the 'overrider-less'...finances sometimes don't leave that as an option...considering the price of a full rubber strip...one without the holes for the over riders and the stainless covers, less is much more costs wise Esty, if you were buying new, 2 x ss covers and the rubber strip is less than two overriders. However, I would plug the holes and go from there. I was fortunate to have collected a couple of chrome front & rears when prices (used as well as new) were realistic. Unfortunately, not now the case. BTW the Euro is heading south, so I guess prices will decline soon......yeah right!
  22. Maybe I should have re-phrased that, It's connected to the exh manifold heat shield, as it was originally with the summer/winter box that used to be attached to the snorkel.
  23. Personally, I prefer the overrider-less long sided bumpers on the square light cars.
